  1. Be well Max it has been fun.
  2. I'm thinking that maybe they should have just had cheverolet keep the truck and gone with the classic - team MVP - often times it doesn't fit, this time it did. Total team effort.
  3. I have noticed this about you Slasher! I like that. I make at least one mistake everyday so personally I'm kind of used to admitting that I'm wrong much of the time. Now about that crow - How do you prefer yours? fried, baked, broiled, or just raw. The reason I have to date never eaten one is that the crows were always smarter then I was when I used to hunt. It has been a fun posting year for me and I am just about ready to take a little break!
  4. It should have been aimed at me. It is odd how when the last game was coming to its end, I actually kept hoping any ball in the infield would be hit at Devers. I was as happy for that kid as I was for anybody. We are going to suffer a letdown soon with no Sox to follow.
  5. !!!
  6. Seriously Hitch - Have I said that to you one time this year? lol Enjoy the moment. I think that we all have one big thing in common - We love this team.
  7. You are right! It isn't about being superior though. I don't care about that. Moon lays over me with his knowledge of these types of issues. I am guilty of looking ahead I guess and maybe not enjoying the moment like I should. When the last game is over, you go to work on the next season. That is pretty much me and I have total faith that our franchise is in good hands. But once again you are right.
  8. You are something my friend!!! Can you forgive DD for the pomeranz trade yet? (just kidding - I couldn't help myself) This has been a great year for all of us. I bet we all have lost a loved one that we would have liked to have shared this team with. My grandfather and my mom would have watched every game! Win or lose, the Red Sox are a special team to love.
  9. How about this one - Sale throws the first pitch and the last pitch of this season! APPROPRIATE
  10. Are you having one of those moments???
  11. You know it really is going to be interesting to see what happens. Kelly said it best - it really is a shame that the entire same groups won't be back next year. I don't know about Eovaldi. It still wouldn't surprise me at all if they make him a priority this off-season.
  12. Moon - I understand totally how much you have enjoyed this year and how much you have liked Dombrowski's moves and how much of the future you were willing to sacrifice for a ring or two. I get all of that. The problem I am having with all cliff dwellers whoever they may be, there is always an addendum to your praise. It of course is ok and possibly correct but I choose to see the future beyond 2020 or whatever as still being potentially bright if current ownership remains in place and if Dombrowski likes it here. He has been and is as good as there is in the game and I have great faith that he can build successful teams under any circumstance.
  13. I'm going to say this because I truly believe this - JD Martinez provided a sense of protection in the middle of our lineup that helped our hitters better mentally approach every at bat. It is possible that the same thing happened with the bullpen during this series. The concept of having to perform at the highest level might have been eased for a pitcher like Joe Kelly knowing that he had Porcello,Price, Eovaldi, Sale, and even Rodriguez out there to pick him up if necessary. The thought had to be comforting - a pressure reliever.
  14. You have fun on that cliff Moon. You have some friends there for sure to spend time with. It is tough every year to produce a winner but it appears that our GM might be up to the challenge,
  15. At this point in time, second base really isn't much of a concern. Devers has emerged at third. My guess - Eovaldi comes back and Kimbrel doesn't unless there is a real mutual understanding.
  16. i agree but we know how it goes here. It is what we do I guess. What a very special year this one was. I'm glad that I am alive to enjoy the whole show.
  17. One of my favorite posts. You never seemed too much of a "I love management" kind of guy. i agree with you obviously. Seeing those starters enthusiastically being out in that bullpen gave me a great sense of calm. An all hands on deck approach when it was needed the most.
  18. This is where we likely start hearing about how good DD is and has been but but but but. No buts for a change - not to take anything away from anyone else who has done this job but I do think that he has stood the test of time and that there really isn't a team in baseball that wouldn't feel pretty good knowing that he was their GM moving forward. From the cliff walkers to the he can't build the farm nor can he build a bullpeners - it has been idle talk. Let's just be happy we got him working for us. Let's see how we do going forward before we judge him in distant hindsight.
  19. I have to thank you for saying this and I actually think that you mean it. For various reasons, i can see why your contributions add a lot to this forum. You compete in a hostlile environment for sure. If you were a player, you would likely be playing for us! lol
  20. The Red Sox will do their due diligence I think. They get it. It isn't all about these uber talented free agents. It is all about finding solid unselfish talent and putting them out there to play as a team. John Henry sounded and looked like he was having a pretty good time last night. I don't think that it matters to this franchise right now how anyone projects them to finish next year. You win with good people - they get it and they'll be back I imagine.
  21. This season has been a blast. From posting here to watching just about every game. You come to feel as though you really know these guys. The finish was appropriate with Chris Sale finishing up for sure. I love what Pearce did and has done for this team and it is a shame that one MVP had to be chosen although individual awards isn't what this team is all about. Price though would have been mine. This is a team for the ages. A different team. No big egos out there. Just a team. Without a doubt it is the best team that I have seen in Boston. Thanks for the memories. I can't believe that it is over. i wish that it wasn't.
  22. If that peckerhead hits Vazquez in the head one more time with that bat, wouldn't you like to see Vazquez maybe ball up and shove his mitt down that sob's throat.
  23. heartfelt - ++
  24. You ain't just a shittin there's Kinsler. He is a good tough competitor and judging the guy on one play is total ********. He has helped this team become the champions that they are about to become.
  25. You don't win with all choir boys for sure but good people win and win big over a period of time. Personally I think that quality of character has been emphasized as well as talent with respect to the construction of this team. This is a quality team. My favorite Red Sox team since 1955!
