  1. I'll hold off on calling that one until after tonight. If Johnson is healthy, I would still try to work him in. Miley or Wright - You aren't giving up anything there and Johnson deserves a shot. Either that or you trade him.
  2. What a find this site has been. Keeps me entertained and interested in the Red Sox. It's like my town - hate em or love em but you have to suffer them all.
  3. 5'8" - 155 - resting pulse = 46 - no fat ass here.
  4. No I can't but Panda might. He looks to me as though he has eaten everything else in town.
  5. Johnson gets a shot here too. Ahead of both Wright and Owens and possibly even Miley. Give him a go.
  6. When Papi hits, there is a whole different attitude in Fenway.
  7. I listened to the game Billy Rohr pitched. We really thought that he was going to make a difference. He was a dud. Don Schaul and Mike Nagy had better mini careers. I have been following Rodriguez now since the trade. He cannot be compared to any of them. In terms of raw potential, this kid is it. He has been for a little while. I like Henry Owens as much as the next guy but I really have felt all along that this kid was ahead of him. He is just 22! He will surely have his ups and downs but physically he looks like he was built to last. He also delivers the ball very smoothly. Doesn't look like is working too hard to hit 95 mph. A great trade! We are lucky to have him.
  8. I remember that catch very well. I can actually see it now. It was a bygone era though don't you think. Yaz was clutch. There was such a thing back then. He also knocked in a lot of runs . We used to think very highly of that stat and the guys who had a pile of them. They used to hit 3,4,5. Wait, they still do. But anyway - pitchers with lots of wins were also more highly valued than other guys as well. Oh well - those were the days.
  9. Couple of things - When the big boy hits, we all hit. And if I hear Billy Rohr's name mentioned in the same sentence as Eduardo Rodriguez's again I will throw up.
  10. Bogaerts really has become a damn good ss
  11. 5 freakin runs so far!!! Come on.
  12. Wait - Is batting average a stat that is still important?
  13. I've been beating this kid's drum since they got him. He never got the ink some of the others got possibly because they didn't draft him. He'll have is ups and downs for sure but i think he is the real deal. He didn't come out of nowhere. He is big, smooth, and works quickly.
  14. I'm not so sure they will ever hit anywhere close to what was projected. JBJ would at least help them with run prevention.
  15. I will not argue with you stat (master or mistriss)? I would only say that Hanley does not pass the eye test. In my estimation, he is an enigma. An adequate fielder in the infield and a man on a mission in the outfield. Not talking about the nuances of the wall or anything particularly technical. In a normal situation, you take a shortstop, a very good athlete (usually 1 of the best on your team) and stick him in the outfield- you expect him to be able to track and catch a fly ball. Not so much with HR. I like him too. Initially I did not like the aquisiton but I like him. His attitude has been perfect and he appears to be a good teammate. It is a conundrum. Eventually it looks like he is heading for the dh role. Right now I wish that he could be somewhere else other than left field.
  16. My team sucks - i don't get it. The cheese is sliding off my cracker.
  17. It's a complete muddlef*** and i really don't know who to blame. Summer is going to suck - i need help. when tony C. came in as a rookie we at least we had something to look forward to. If it wasn't for E-rod, i might have to take time off.
  18. Lots of vertical stripes I'd say for sure.
  19. Masterson lasted 1 and 2/3 today. I feel for him but it just isn't working. JBJ 3 more hits.
  20. Good point- he could be 35. About the time an otherwise physically fit body starts to show some wear down signs.
  21. so sad - not even summer yet.
  22. trying not to lose interest here.
  23. decent start for Owens. As good as what they have coming out of the 4 and 5 slot now.
