  1. Eovaldi has a rebuilt arm. he is a young man who could have a very good career (maybe not great) going forward. Concerns about his being susceptible to injury are over rated. I like him.
  2. Oh you would have taken it well plus you would have gotten a good laugh also. It was a good rant - lots of good old fashioned colorful language too. lol zing - zing - zing
  3. He really had about as much chance of throwing out Correa on that grounball as nothing. The way he played it made him look foolish and opened himself up to all of the critics who don't think he is much of a shortstop. He fielded the ball - looked down into his glove at it- tapped once before he set his feel to throw it. 0 sense of urgency! not good! Once again though it would not have mattered. Correa could have crawled down the line and beaten him if he had actually made a better effort. i love the guy but was not impressed with his effort factor on that one.
  4. Slasher - I had a great response to you but slow internet tonight meant that it did not get posted. It is just as well since it was shamefully naughty and very much out of character for someone as serious as I am. If it had gone through, I was going to have to claim that someone had hacked my account and was posing as me. Oh well - the moment has gone and now I'm all calmed down. Yup you can just consider me a super Sale fan I guess.
  5. I agree
  6. Hey notin - we agree on something. i never said that the Red Sox should pony up a 6 or 7 year deal for Sale. They might but I doubt it. I think that many free agents are signed to lengthy contracts the look outrageously bad in there latter years. If you are mega rich and can get 4 very good years and couple of scratchers - yup somebody would bite on that especially if those very good ones are similar to what Chris Sale has given to date. At some point everyone slows down we know that but at what point is the question. If you think, like you might, that this is the beginning of a slow decline for Chris Sale, I think that there are plenty on board who would agree. I don't but that doesn't matter. I don't think that he is quite ready for the old folk's joint just yet.
  7. He's probably reading this thread as we speak and is so turned off by this forum that he is ready to just jump ship. He might be even considering retirement since his demise is now imminent. He is 30 - too damn old for us. lol
  8. ty moon - Actually I was talking about Larry (wink wink)
  9. Come on notin, how did you know that that was directed at you? Am I that obvious?
  10. it is just me notin - I'll admit I am a huge Chris Sale fan not just because of his pitching ability. Everything about him screams tough tough athlete to me. i like guys like him. He has been on the dl this year but I choose not to buy into the thought that this marks the beginning of the end for him. He certainly wan't the same the other night but that could be due to many things one of which could actually be inactivity. The impression i'm getting from you is that it is just inevitable from here on out that he will just be going downhill. I don't think that anyone can say that with any certainty. Is this where you give me the facts and figures again that verify your beliefs about aging athletes ? lol
  11. You are worked up Bellhorn. I kind of like it though. With respect to Larry's comment - you know Larry by now. It is what he tries to do. I would say that neither team is really piling on the hits. Good teams find ways to score runs. These two teams are good!
  12. Oh no stop right there. It has been spoken. he is spindly and frail - he is 30 (just too old) - he clearly is destined for a physical downfall - He surely is done and will never be offered a decent contract again. lol
  13. oh I get it - I apologize for just doing what I do although I'm glad I still do it. I like passion. It keeps me from believing that I really am 67. You have passion. I like that. Sometimes i get very frustrated with this forum and try to convince myself to take a break but it just doesn't seem to work. I like it here. i'm also liking the fight in our team right now!
  14. Maybe you as well I'm thinking. I'm fine with it myself. I am for sure very sensitive. It's a trait I'm proud of.
  15. I get it - sensible people agree with you. s*** I'm just not sensible i guess.
  16. I'm very serious. I could care less what you discuss. Oh I forgot - pretty simple!
  17. I don't care what you discuss. I like a general discussion as much as the next person. It is also a forum that is filled with opinion and conjecture. Why should Chris Sale's future with the Red Sox be a topic on a thread dealing with the realities of 2018? I don't mind at all if people want to float the idea that he is too old or too injury prone to sign to a future contract. I am surprised and a little confused as to why that seems to be a topic for discussion at this time. But since we are talking about it, suggesting that his demise is inevitable because of the injury he has had and maybe still has in my opinion might be a little premature.
  18. Do you think that it is purely a baseball myth notin? I have always kind of believed I guess that many ml pitchers really wanted to throw a strike to most hitters with their first pitch. 3 hits and any kind of a dose of Workman I doubt cuts it though.
  19. I guess I am confused which would not be the first time. When did this become a thread discussing a possible long term contract to Chris Sale? He did have a horrible night last night. He didn't throw a bunch of fastballs but I thought he got a few moving a little faster than 91 mph. You may very well be right that he is hurt. Maybe it is just me - maybe it is out of loyalty for a pitcher who quite honestly I have enjoyed watching as much as any I have ever watched. yes that also means that I think that he is as talented as any who ever wore the Sox uniform. We all have our favorites - he is my kind of player. He has an injury history that has amounted to next to nothing and I am amazed that anyone has reached a point that they are even talking about his impending demise.
  20. I'm a little surprised at this. I do not think that anyone should think that notin is "dead on" about his Chris Sales opinions. I guess that we are all entitled to our opinions and personal beliefs. Im not quite ready to give up on the guy just yet who has given us so much and who has been so dominant. A speed bump maybe but I think that it is a little premature to start the Chris Sale impending demise thread.
  21. it might very well be but we have 0 clue as to what is going to happen. I just don't want to see the - who is more valuable Betts or Sale arguement start. It is not important right now. I'm going to enjoy them both while we have them.
  22. Slow down boys. i doubt seriously that it ever becomes a situation of one or the other. I think that they are both equally great at what they do.
  23. Ok Max - so how about this - the Yankees got so so lucky to get within one run of the Sox and it is a good thing that Nunez and Pearce did what they did. Vazquez little fly ball to right does not mean much to me with respect to how much game time he should get moving forward. I'm happy that he hit the ball and am particularly happy that he was in Yankee stadium when he hit it.
  24. I think that the teams that are and have been the most successful over the many years since FA began still in fact understand that building a team with your own talent through your minor league system is the way to go for sure. FA exists as a luxury of the wealthier owners and franchises if you ask me. It is not an end all to success and any team that thinks that it is is going to fail. You have to understand though that I do not share that the idea that Dombrowski is a farm system destroyer. There are certainly people posting here that because they disagree with some of his moves will adamantly proclaim that he is. I don't buy that for one single second but understand I think the cliff concept is horseshit as well.
  25. You just might need to the right people to refer you. I'll do what I can!
