It's kind of shocking that after such a crap year last year, the mission seemed to be to make the team even worse. Henry didn't let Bloom spend a whole lot, and the returns on what he did spend on are slim so far.

It shouldn't have, when the team won the division the 3 prior years and won a title. 1 bad year out of 4 gets you the axe?

Without a doubt hiring Bloom was all part and parcel of JH's desire to rein in the payroll. You have to wonder if JH is liking the results right now.

Generally speaking, the guys they got rid of were about to become free agents. So that is quite a bit different from a guy they just signed to a 10-year extension. If they didn't plan to keep Devers they would have followed the same MO and traded him or let him walk.

This is a circular thing - one of the reasons so many have thrown the towel in is that it seems ridiculous to see Dalbec at SS in the 12th game of the season.

Look man, you said McGuire would be the #1 catcher and catch 60% of the games. Instead, Wong started games 8,9,10 and 11 of the season. So your credibility on this matter is already shot.
