  1. That might just mean more Barracloughs and Lloveras for all we know.
  2. Bloom probably isn't quite done with 1 year deals for veterans like Turner and Duvall. Which were both good moves.
  3. The importance of the term "GM" is gone. The CBO is the man at the helm. If "GM' was still important, we'd have a Fire O'Halloran thread.
  4. If they don't spend big bucks on a pitcher before next season it will be truly astonishing.
  5. We've had 3 great nosedives since 2012. 2011-2012 90 to 69 23.3% 2013-2014 97 to 71 26.8% 2018-2019 108 to 84 22.2%
  6. Bloom has succeeded in crushing your expectations.
  7. OK, they were "reigning world champions", then. You're champion until there's a new one.
  8. Very grim.
  9. We lost 2 out of 3 in Oakland, so sweeping hapless teams in their parks is not our forte.
  10. He's getting big money too.
  11. Here we go. I think technically he's correct. Bloom was hired before the end of the 2019 World Series.
  12. That could be difficult with the state of our rotation.
  13. We may not know everything, but I don't think it's a total mystery. The team's public statements about trying to rebuild and compete at the same time were actually honest statements, I believe. If they weren't trying to compete they wouldn't have made signings like Jansen and Martin. To me the real question, and it's one we've talked about before, is whether Bloom is actually competent at constructing a major league roster.
  14. We know that Henry has no problems pulling the plug on his CBO's. And what other explanation could there be for jettisoning Cherington than the last place finishes? IMHO there is no way Henry is liking the results he's seeing. This is all about his patience.
  15. It's a tight race, though...
  16. And that strategy is paying off brilliantly! Your truly, Corey Kluber
  17. That really is a filthy little + sign.
  18. Yeah, maybe it's time for a "How will the Sox do in September" thread.
  19. I think they probably will.
  20. We know all about the glass house.
  21. Holy Pure Depressing Speculation, Batman!
  22. He posts in bold because his eyes are bad, as he has explained many times. You're the worst at getting personal about other posters. You should be banned, frankly.
  23. As bad as the D is, the team FIP of 4.42 is almost the same as the ERA of 4.48, so let's not be lulled into thinking the pitching has actually been great...
  24. 6 year plan - you went there? Oh no...
  25. We still have a month to go. If the pitching and defense continue their implosion and we finish under .500 and in last place again, that may not be the case. 2023 could end up even more embarrassing than 2022. That is not going to sell.
