  1. Gallen did have 2 good games in the earlier rounds, but the Phillies knocked him around some.
  2. It will be a fine performance I'm sure. It's what they pay him for.
  3. Letting 12 teams in has really magnified the crapshoot factor.
  4. But it was very beneficial to Porcello in spite of not being a high K pitcher.
  5. But that counts 2020. He does have some indicators of decline, though. Snell on the other hand has more indicators of injury risk.
  6. Nope, I do, with the CBO pick at least.
  7. Need to look at the longer sample for him though, no? He's been consistently good and durable.
  8. I've been sticking faithfully to fWAR for a while now, in case you didn't notice. Go back and check my posts when you have a weekend to spare. I do think that when there's a significant gap between fWAR and bWAR for a pitcher, as was the case with Kluber in 2022, some further review might be in order.
  9. The lack of candidates is speeding up the process and saving the Sox front office a lot of work. There's always a bright side.
  10. OK, they scared up one possibly legit outside candidate.
  11. I trust Sham to give us some laughs.
  12. They could basically scare up only one legit outside candidate. Too funny.
  13. Speier is one of the trustworthy ones.
  14. He was a good guy to send to Wal-Mart for sure.
  15. True, but why do we talk about that as if it matters?
  16. Bloom's parting gift was to make the 2023 roster so flawed that we wouldn't have to worry about a few better hindsight moves making enough of a difference.
  17. Still 4 wins better than Kluber for $7 million more.
  18. Gausman in, Story and JBJ out etc. I can do it if you give me a few minutes.
  19. Gabe Kapler, that's who!
  20. Not necessarily. 3.1 bWAR and 2.5 fWAR for 17 mill is respectable. Plus our standards aren't that high anymore.
  21. Sham is a comedian.
  22. Lots of s***** moves and non-moves the past two years though. Story, JBJ, Yoshida, Kike, Kluber. No good starters signed for 2023. Bloom did not have the margin for error that permits that kind of shittiness.
  23. Yep, wonderful payroll management by Chaim the last two years, other than the back to back 78 win seasons for $460 million and the getting fired parts.
  24. They'll find one, but the pickings are a lot slimmer than they figured. Rightfully so.
