Boras seems to have overplayed his hand on Snell, Montgomery, Bellinger, Chapman and JDM. Teams just weren't as much in the mood to spend this offseason. I think there are some numbers spooking them.

Can't get much back without eating some of his $16 million salary. Best to save him for a possible deadline trade, IMHO. Who knows, we may actually "compete" this year?

Trading Duran for a pitcher certainly makes some sense team-building wise. Trading Kenley at this point would just be a salary dump.

That statement is much too clear and straightforward for our front office. You'd have to dress it up in several layers of ambiguity and throw in a touch of WTF does that mean? before they could use it.
