  1. He was 3rd in MVP voting in 2008 and 6th in 2009.
  2. I'm afraid the truth may be that Bard has always struggled with the mental part of the game and this starter experiment is only bringing it to full light. If you look at Bard's catcher splits it's kind of shocking. The only catcher he actually has great numbers with is Varitek. Absolutely lights-out with Varitek, mediocre to bad with everyone else.
  3. Oh yeah, I realize that. But I see you like positive trends too.
  4. Yes, posting a 6 ERA the first month kind of put us in a hole.
  5. I've been hearing very good things about it. I agree, Scott has done some great stuff...Alien and Blade Runner are classics.
  6. They have to trade Youk, ASAP.
  7. I dunno...clever, but I still like Pedroia.
  8. Gameday says it was close enough.
  9. We're in last place 3 games out. At one point we were 7.5 games out.
  10. The pitching has improved a lot though. April 5.54 ERA May 3.93 ERA June 2.83 ERA before tonight
  11. Bard's comments about being angry and disappointed hardly qualify him as insubordinate or a cancer. If he doesn't go to Pawtucket and work hard there, that would be a different story.
  12. Crawford might not be too good anymore either.
  13. A 182 hitter. Ha ha, like your small samples much?
  14. All Nava has done is get on base at a tremendous clip, score runs and drive them in. Yes, let's get him the hell out of here. Bring on Crawford and that .289 OBP. Woo-hoo! I say keep Nava, even if you have to send him back down. After Crawford sucks for awhile everyone will be wanting Nava back.
  15. At this point I have to say Nava shouldn't be going anywhere. I mean, 306/445/506... And I think this team has been a much more energized group since Middlebrooks and Nava got here...
  16. Caring is great. Caring and providing is even better.
  17. Nava has been a lot of fun to watch. And his OBP is still at the sick level.
  18. The Nava man is contributing again tonight.
  19. Holy crap, one of those pitches called a ball on Nava was right in the middle of the strike zone.
  20. Baseball fans were treated today to a matchup between Dickey and Wang.
