  1. Machado had priors. That just sealed the deal.
  2. It was that troublemaker Kimmi.
  3. Which would seem to be the one logical explanation for the whole thing.
  4. The surgeries thing was wacky but whatever it was about, he had nothing to gain by it and it's ultimately irrelevant. Back before the internet we would never even know about something so trivial.
  5. He's not a liar, let's be reasonable.
  6. I agree. The 'no surgeries that I know of' comment did made him look a little silly when there was a slew of them right after he said it.
  7. I don't think she's calling him a liar, Nick, just saying you can't take some of his statements seriously.
  8. All I know is he has to do a better job keeping the ball out of the fat part of the plate.
  9. Here is a good thread to read about it and talk about it on: http://www.talksox.com/forum/threads/18331-Debunking-the-3-year-window-myth-the-Red-Sox-in-2020
  10. Matsui was a very good hitter, I think that's the most accurate statement. With a .933 postseason OPS and World Series MVP, you might even be able to make an argument for him being clutch.
  11. 700hitter predicted a crowd-pleaser before tickets go on sale, but it sure doesn't look that way.
  12. His Wikipedia page says he's currently the assistant baseball coach at a prep school in Florida. That Mike Stanley?
  13. You are a joker Larry. This Ohtani kid is a totally different dude. It was the Yankees that really had their heart set on him and he said no thanks. I'm sure we had even less chance than they did.
  14. Ohtani has until December 22 to decide. That's still 17 days away. Plus, he's not a big financial investment for whichever team scores him.
  15. What about pitchers though? There's been nothing about Darvish or Arrieta or Cobb or Shaw either. I think something's going on more than just waiting for Stanton. Could be wrong of course. Maybe the floodgates are about to open.
  16. Some people like to make mountains out of mole hills.
  17. It is crazy quiet in the free agent market. Not even a good rumor! Like I said before, I think Boras is just about to make a speech on 'What the hell is going on here?'
  18. Sorry, I should have said Slasher is a Cliff Believer.
  19. A cliff made of hash would be cool though.
  20. Hard to say, but Timlin and Embree pitched superbly in the 2003 postseason, so Grady was just a bozo, I think.
  21. Zero Eff's given = Don't give a f**k
  22. Yeah, but Slasher is a DD hater too.
  23. Yep. The Astros did a full-on tank job.
  24. Yep. I'm up for anything right now.
  25. I think you're right. I'm just saying that we at least have some experience in last place finishes. It's certainly hard to picture the Sox under John Henry going into a full rebuild mode. Maybe old Johnny Boy will sell the team before the Cliff gets here. Who the heck knows, really...
