    It would be kind of nice, I guess, if Machado ends up way short of what he was expecting. It was reported he came into the offseason thinking he might get more than Stanton's 325 million. I think his somewhat bizarre antics with the Dodgers hurt him in the wallet after all.

    Dombrowski may have calculated that there would be some bargains on relievers come February, somewhat like Moustakas last year.

    It's a little different. The Yankees signed him for minimum wage about a week ago. What would have happened since then? Give me some logic here.

    But Kimmi is right that the odds are that if someone has such bad judgment as to throw away 200 mill, they're probably going to throw away 220 mill if they had it.

    You're awfully sensitive about the Yanks being in all those Wild Card games. If the Sox end up in a Wild Card game this year, we'll call it a play-in game, OK? Hopefully that clears this up.
