    And what's funny is that Henry got slammed for every single thing he said, whether he said the re-set was coming or whether he said it might not be. Just as with the DD firing he got slammed for saying next to nothing. Red Sox media and fans have turned this kind of bitching into an art-form.

    Last year the Rays used Ryne Stanek frequently as an opener (before trading him to Miami). Stanek is a fairly mediocre pitcher who somehow did well in that role.

    I was a bit surprised too. Maybe they were concerned that if they non-tendered him, he would say 'OK, f*** you guys', and sign somewhere else even if we offered the same money. Or maybe Henry really likes him? I just figure they considered all these things and had their reasons.
