  1. They might need an accountant, too.
  2. Maybe one of the reasons the Red Sox investigation took so long was because of findings being disputed.
  3. If Syndergaard's surgery should not have been performed, the hospital and the surgeons are as much at fault as he is, if not more. They could have said no.
  4. Which is what I suggested to harmony as well.
  5. Perhaps because the Astros took it a new level with the decoding and garbage can banging from the dugout, while other teams were decoding and signaling from the basepaths, which has been going on forever.
  6. Another key statement from that article I linked this morning: A spokesperson for The Hospital for Special Surgery in Florida where Syndergaard’s surgery will take place told the paper: “The procedure in question—acute ligament injury with progressively worsening ulnar nerve symptoms—is defined as essential care.” The crux of this is what is defined as "essential".
  7. A somewhat interesting read on this issue: https://www.thedailybeast.com/why-are-mlb-stars-getting-elective-surgery-during-coronavirus-pandemic
  8. I really don't know how to feel about it. But the Red Sox silence on the matter is a little weird.
  9. The Red Sox refuse to say anything about Sale's surgery. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if he's already had it.
  10. I'm not convinced either. I don't think Henry hired Bloom to act like Dombrowski. And the news on Sale can't be doing much for Henry's opinion of big contracts.
  11. Seems like the right year for it at this point.
  12. Potential draft pick penalties are still a huge deal here.
  13. That's what it will be. Anyone who thinks there will be actual robots standing there will be disappointed.
  14. They could beat it if Kabloom's cast of no-name acquisitions turn out to be mostly good ones, I guess. Plus I don't think he's totally done yet, assuming the season ever resumes.
  15. And I am comforted by the fact that the Yankees haven't made it to the World Series since 2009.
  16. And of course-this is no news flash-catchers can have a sizable influence on the calls by how they catch the ball. That's even measured now!
  17. Yeah, don't even look it up, it's ugly.
  18. We beat the A's in the 1975 ALCS and the 2003 ALDS. They beat us in 1988 and 1990. So we're square.
  19. Personally I don't care about those things. What I care about is that we have crushed them, and virtually every other team, in postseason success this century.
  20. It was actually the Red Sox manager who took the most heat, for starting Galehouse in the first place. Things never change, really...
  21. And you just called (Denny) Galehouse Dewey. You think you have OCD!
  22. I'm 64, still working as an accountant, you know where I live, Sox fan since 1969.
  23. This story says Syndergaard is having the surgery in Florida. Also has some discussion about the preferential treatment thing. https://www.sportingnews.com/ca/mlb/news/noah-syndergaard-tommy-john-surgery-mets/1h4b4mb32iq7u194r0dmkxllcz
  24. Still can't believe you mis-spelled 'time', though.
