Grandma took a fall, so just tuned in. Great win! Mookie's heating up alongside Papi etc. Wright is the new Dickey apparently. Better repetoire, location than Wakefield I was hearing on the radio.

Those calls can now be handled by replay, so they're a non-issue. The only true remaining issue with the umpiring is balls-strikes.

YOTN, the mod, who is the one with the ban stick, has clearly stated on several occasions (because this has happened before) that integration comes with its own set of problems, and that BDC members are welcome here and encouraged to keep signing up to talksox.com. From my part, and I speak for pretty much everyone here, you are welcome, and we have done our best to help you acclimate you to the website. However, there have been issues on both sides that have made integration difficult, but that's just the nature of the beast. The result has been a net positive if you ask me.

Buchholz is in a no-win situation there: If he takes it personally, "he's not a team-first guy", if he doesn't "he doesn't care". All he can do is try to produce on the field.

People have the right to complain about whatever they want, whenever they want, be it real life or the internet. That, of course, gives others the right to call them out on it. On the specific point of umpiring, winning the game should not be a license to allow errors in game management by the umpiring to pass unnoticed, because the other shoe always drops. Consistent game-calling should be the objective, not umpiring that is advantageous to one's team.

I mean, they have an umpire review system, and they measure accuracy using both live observers and comparing to a pitch/fx like tool. They also use a percentage-based system to measure umpires, as you theorize, but what I don't know is what type of incentive/punishments they receive. Must do more research.

That's why some people advocate for automated strike zones. We have the technology. Personally I'm torn. Maybe they could keep the umpires and give them some sort of way to use the system to make their calls at the MLB level?

Oh he'll get the boot. What I'm stating here are the actual guidelines for getting rid of those types of trolls. As Dojji said in that very thread, the mod team takes it time, but they're always weeded out. YOTN's on vacation IIRC, but he'll handle the situation one way or the other.

Again, banning people here is based on actual behavior, not hearsay. If he's a troll, he'll get banned. It's the mod's/admin's decision either way. Twenty five posters from BDC, or DodgerBlues, or CardsNation can come in saying a poster is a troll, but if he's not trolling here, why would he be banned? What is this, a Kim Jong's reign?

You've been pretty troll-like too. As I explained to another poster, people aren't banned here based on hearsay. If he proves he's a troll (well on his way) then he gets banned. This isn't the cold war, and we don't own an espionage network to filter new posters.

Yeah what was actually said was that he had not exposed himself as a troll yet, but if he did, he'd get banned. We don't ban people here just because someone's complaining about them.

It would be hilarious if Buchholz ended up settling into an effective setup role. Jacko correctly (as I throw up in my mouth from writing "Jacko" and "correctly" in the same sentence) the uptick in velocity. Farrell stated that other than the middle-middle curveball shot back up for a single, Buchholz was very very sharp and was giving the catcher exactly what he was asking for in the desired location. On a side note: Matt Moore (Rays) and Hector Santiago (Angels) appear to be available. Both are lefties with good stuff but terrible command. Moore also has K stuff and was extremely highly regarded coming up the Rays' system until he underwent TJS.

That's my reasoning for picking Trout: He runs (and is built like) an elite running back, yet has the vertical to dunk a basketball, and can hit for power with the best of them. Just a beast.

Well continue on your path of douchiness since you're not long for this site. Word of advice: Stop trolling and focus on baseball if you want to stay here. You ousted yourself as a pathetic Yankee fan troll way too quick. Use the Jacko approach of providing at least some insight instead of constant idiocy so we can tolerate you around here. In other words: fix your tampon if it's making you so uncomfortable that it's bringing you to the verge of tears and it's making you so angry that you have to come be an ******* on a Red Sox website to make yourself feel better.
