  1. Funny, because over the last three years, Lester has been essentially the same pitcher as CC. Even with Lester's down year last year, ERA + 140 to 139 favoring CC. Also, Burnett didn't pitch 200 innings neither last year nor the year before. So how is he now a certainty to throw 200 innings? I know this is really difficult for you, but how about some objectivity?
  2. So? They can sign a cheap guy with little to no impact on the cap, like Jonny Gomes et al.
  3. Apple,meet orange.
  4. The problem is that a decent one is a must. And the Bears' O-Line is so bad , that if they played Notre Dame tomorrow, Cutler would get sacked five times.
  5. They did change the medical and strength and conditioning team though. Maybe it's not going to be a clusterf*** for once. One can only hope.
  6. Cutler would probably look a lot better if his O-Line wasn't so bad though.
  7. They have to sign someone unless it's a minor procedure.
  8. Left fielders Pat Burrell (35) - Type B, no arbitration offer Johnny Damon (37) Jay Gibbons (35) Jonny Gomes (31) Carlos Guillen (36) Bill Hall (32) Willie Harris (34) Raul Ibanez (40) - Type B, offered arbitration Conor Jackson (30) Austin Kearns (32) Fred Lewis (31) Juan Pierre (34) - Type B, no arbitration offer Ryan Spilborghs (32) Marcus Thames (35) Center fielders Rick Ankiel (32) Yoenis Cespedes (26) Corey Patterson (32) Cody Ross (31) - Type B, no arbitration offer Right fielders Milton Bradley (34) J.D. Drew (36) Kosuke Fukudome (35) Willie Harris (34) Brad Hawpe (33) Xavier Nady (33) Magglio Ordonez (38) - Type B Cody Ross (31) - Type B, no arbitration offer Ryan Spilborghs (32) This is the list of All-Stars left in the FA market.
  9. Now they need to sign an OF. Fantastic.
  10. Wasn't Thome also an above-average 3B in the Minors and at the start of his career in the Majors?
  11. Nothing, because that's exactly the salary he was projected to receive.
  12. So is he or isn't he good enough to start next year? Because that's his ETA.
  13. I didn't say starting pitching because i meant pitching in general. The Yankees have a deeper starting staff (5 legitimate starters) even though the top three favors the Red Sox. However, the BP's are not even close. The Yankees had (considering their home park) a top-three relief corps in the MLB.
  14. I'm surprised. By the amount of hype he gets, it sure sounded like Bunuelos was a sure bet to join the Yankees next year. Maybe he's not as good as you Yankee fans pimp him out to be?
  15. I'm talking specifically about pitching: Wilson, Darvish, Buehrle.
  16. The problem is that, right now, Yankee pitching is head and shoulders above Red Sox pitching on paper. That being said, we could catch lightning in a bottle with a couple of our "depth" signings. The way Murphy's Law has been f***ing the Red Sox over the last couple of years, they're bound to catch a break.
  17. Then why haven't they traded him yet? Bunuelos' upside is high enough for the Yankees to take a chance on him as a starter. And even if the Yankees were to sign one of Cain-Hamels-Greinke-Marcum, that would leave the coast clear for the Sox to pick up a pitcher anyway.
  18. CC-Pineda-Nova-Bunuelos-Hughes. And several arms in the minors, as well as Burnett still on the MLB roster. Why would they invest on a massive contract for a starter when they have a bunch of pitchers waiting in the wings?
