  1. Well i'll be back after the panic over the Yankee acquisitions has ended. Be seein' y'all.
  2. It's an off-hand comment regarding the "where there's smoke, there's fire" point. A lot of times there's a lot of smoke, but no fire, and that's not only regarding the Red Sox.
  3. The path is clear for them to sign Oswalt. If they don't, then i'll be pissed. Unless they trade for someone.
  4. Then why isn't Pujols a member of the Rangers, CJ Wilson a Yankee and Jose Reyes a Brewer?
  5. That was for last year alone. He asked for the last two years.
  6. Sox better sign Oswalt.
  7. He would have to accept a MiLB deal though. Just like Bernie with the Yankees, he most likely won't. He still thinks he can play at the ML level. Pride is hard to overcome.
  8. Shoppach is right around 28% and Varitek is right around 17%. It's not even close.
  9. Aaaaaaaand there goes the back-patting.
  10. Even though that's exactly what the rumors actually say? How about a link?
  11. When the Yankees got rid of Bernie Williams, they did EXACTLY WHAT THE RED SOX ARE DOING WITH VARITEK NOW, which was offer him a MILB deal that they knew he wasn't going to take. As for Wakefield, they haven't even been in contact with the guy. I know you were looking for validation for your earlier opinions, but baseless conjecture is not the place to get it. @ Fred
  12. I'm just glad Wakefield isn't being mentioned anywhere.
  13. Conjecture. Wakefield hasn't even been mentioned anywhere.
  14. From MLBTR: The Sox offered Tek an MILB deal. (Makes no sense). Kuroda is sending signals to the Yanks and Sox signifying his desire to sign with either team. As an earlier report mentioned, the asking price for Kuroda, Oswalt and Jackson is dropping rapidly.
  15. It's supposedly a split Minor/Major league contract, a la Cook.
  16. Morales is not a starting pitcher though. It's more likely that Doubront and Padilla (if signed) will take some of the spot starts.
  17. Padilla would be an ideal swingman if he could keep his idiocy under control
  18. Also (and i believe we have agreed on this in a prior discussion) they need to accelerate the development of some of this pitching prospects. They need to finish learning the ropes in the Majors.
  19. We're pretty much on the same page here, good sir. Good analysis.
