  1. Fred, Varitek and Wakefield were not invited to ST. Wakefield was never even mentioned and Cherington shot down the Varitek rumor. Don't make s*** up.
  2. That's the textbook definition of a strawman. No one here has said they're content with the bullpen. He's likely just looking to add fuel to the fire.
  3. The Angels are so overrated right now.
  4. Best lineup in the league, one of the best top-threes, and a decent BP. Agreed.
  5. Excellent post. Games are played on the field. The Red Sox were "paper" champions last year and look at how that turned out.
  6. Some of you people do your absolute best to turn this board as unreadable as possible. Shut the f*** up about your stupid squabbles and let's talk baseball.
  7. Great post. Completely agree on both counts, but i would like to add that we also don't know to the extent that LL and ownership had influenced whatever problems PG mentioned.
  8. My power of deduction is second only to Chuck Norris.
  9. In my view, Larry Lucchino is the cancer that is eating away at this franchise.
  10. Werth was the better fit, and he probably wouldn't have sucked at Fenway.
  11. We get it. You don't like Theo Epstein.
  12. Well we have 20,000,000 reasons a year to forcibly learn to love him. Not to be a Theo apologist, but neither him nor Lackey look like Theo signings. To me, that reeks of Lucchino.
  13. Well i guess we'll have to wait until the dust settles to see what actually happened. Either way, Crawford's attitude sucks.
  14. Supposedly the problem happened during CC's winter workouts, and it was not a pre-existing condition. According to the report, he called the medical staff as soon as he felt something was wrong.
  15. Bleh, it's okay. I'll probably whiff on two of my three predictions either way.
  16. I would give it a B+, simply because even though they gave up Noesi and Montero, they are rich in the two most valuable commodities in MLB: Catchers who can hit and SP.
  17. Bailey? Where did i say no way he gets over 1.5 million? The only players i assumed would make less than a million were Morales, Bard and Salty. Already whiffed on Salty though.
  18. This makes no sense.
  19. Who would like to not have Gonzales? If you meant VMart and Gonzales that'd be a whole other deal.
  20. I'm not saying it's not important. I'm saying the IP difference is not enough to claim massive superiority of CC over Lester. Let's be honest. 2009-2010 Lester was arguably better than CC. There are no reasons for us to think that Lester couldn't be arguably better than CC in 2012 again.
  21. They have four starters, three what-ifs, and a good farm system. Let's not pat ourselves on the back too back here lest we pull a lat muscle.
