  1. Both Hal and Hank already came out and emphatically denied these reports.....which means there may be something to them.
  2. "What it looks like" right now matters little. It's an 8-start sample, and he's been serviceable at the back-end of the rotation. How does that look like failure?
  3. Isn't that the whole point of a 4th/5th OF? It's a guy who's not good enough to be a regular (In Jones' case, he can't hit righties anymore) but who has enough tools to play in specific situations (lefties in Jones' case.
  4. 8 starts. You can be certain most of Bard's problems are mental and mechanical. The stuff is there. 47 IP as a starter is indicative of nothing.
  5. That's what the YES boards are for.
  6. Yes, but Hughes has had a lot more time to prove himself. I bet you've been a big Hughes supporter regardless of his early struggles, hence your current point. Bard's speed could still rebound. And the slider should come back. Apples and oranges. He's had a couple starts after being stretched out for the first time in years. Not nearly enough time to call the experiment a "failure". Wait and see.
  7. "Or below" "afterthought" what? He's a fifth OF. My point is that you're making such a huge effort to put the guy down, when there's really not a lot to put down. He is what he is.
  8. Hughes has been on the league as a starter for years, Bard has less than 10 starts. Apples and oranges. Also, apparently you do need it since you're justifying yourself, but whatever. Post away. No wonder you got a chart describing your posts.
  9. What is it with you and Nava? He's not that good bro. Get over it.
  10. DFTT.
  11. Why the big buzz over a 5th OF? He does one thing well, which is getting on base, and has improved his D. An adequate replacement. Btw Jacko, your schtick is getting really really annoying, no offense.
  12. It's just flabbergasting how some people can think that: A) Less than 10 starts is enough to judge whether or not the Bard "experiment" will or won't pay dividends. B ) The idea that just because the guy hasn't flashed "exceptional stuff" he will never be a decent starter, even though we know he has great stuff. Are you serious?
  13. The f*** does Limbaugh have to do with the shittiness of last night's OF and getting owned by a guy that's sucked ass all year? Focus on baseball plz.
  14. So you openly admit to trolling? You're my internet hero.
  15. Hey, i know the reality of the pitching woes of this team. I just don't pretend to know more about the business of baseball than those who manage teams for a living. The reason i'm not bitching and moaning is because there's actually a lot of room for internal improvement on this team. The bullpen has been lights-out for more than a month (our supposed weak link) while the team's two best pitchers still haven't hit their stride. And after all, the division, held by the sure-to-regress Orioles, is still up for grabs. Being a "realist" is looking at things from a "realistic" angle, not whining incessantly.
  16. I was on vacation outside of the country. When i got back, i had a lot of catching up to do at work, and had just started stronglift 5x5, so not a lot of leisure time other than watching the Sox and NBA playoffs.
  17. I highly doubt the Tigers would sell low on Scherzer. As evidenced by Sunday's outing, when he's on, he's Verlander on.
