  1. Compare bullpen depth between the Red Sox and Mets, also compare division and stadiums. If you were going to sign with a team based on your chance to: A) Make the Majors, B ) Post good numbers, where would you go?
  2. That's because you're usually either wrong, or spouting insults to other posters/players/front office or annoying hyperbole. This is an example of you being plain wrong and refusing to admit it. The initial point you made was that they traded Rizzo instead of Anderson because they valued Anderson more, and this is wrong, as pretty much everyone has told you. At the time of the trade (which is the only time relevant to this discussion) Rizzo was a top-100 prospect, and Anderson had pretty much washed out. And no, i won't put you on ignore. I will keep calling you out on your ******** every chance i get.
  3. Everyone knows this except seabeachfred.
  4. It's not my fault you don't know what you're talking about.
  5. Plus a prospect.....don't forget the prospect.
  6. Yeah, the Marlins are obviously looking for oft-injured, underperforming pitchers making significant money. That's exactly what they want. Make that offer Ben!
  7. I thought Beckett bought the rights to that idea? Still hate that ******* with his stupid goatee and constant whining.
  8. I'll offer Salty and make it seem like i'm really sad to see him go. If he bites, we can have that second kegger we talked about after the one for the Dodgers trade.
  9. Resources is just one of the variables. I think to focus completely on resources is misguided, but that's just me. We can agree to disagree.
  10. But if that team is coming off a colossal disappointment of a season and sees a 21-win improvement while setting itself up for subsequent years, can you really call that season a failure? Can you really expect a team that won 69 games to makes the playoffs? Is the standard of "success" the same for everyone? Too many variables imo.
  11. I just got a call from the GM of the Mariners with the weird name. He's asking about Jacoby because he thinks he can "win now". He's offering a bunch of scrubs for him. I told him i'd give him Nava, Mauro and Jacoby (with trimmed eyebrows) for Felix, and i was doing him a favor. He hung up. I don't think he understands that his team is supposed to be a minor league affiliate for good clubs like ours.
  12. The problem is defining "standards" here imo.
  13. And that's why the Red Sox should not trade any of their top pitching prospects for Mike Stanton.
  14. Yeah i very much disagree with that.
  15. See, this is why i keep saying we gotta get rid of Nava. We told him he could be on the roster if he could take care of these chores for us. Such incompetence.
  16. Wasn't it LL who could do that? You gotta have him mix that cheap Vodka he likes with Sam Adams for him to agree to it though.
  17. I'll have Hoyer pay for it as repayment for that bet he lost about not trading for Anthony Rizzo.
  18. Think i should try trading for him? I think he could be good for business. He's kinda ugly, but i have an idea. Let's have those gay guys give him a makeover. That's always good tv. Good for ratings.
  19. Speaking about JH. I'm getting a lot of flack from him because i didn't sign Josh Hamilton to a 10-year, 250 million dollar deal and Greinke for 8/190. He also wants me to trade the entire farm system (literally every minor league player) for Mike Stanton and Logan Morrison. Could you get him off my back please?
  20. Not everything has to be based on "Statistical evidence" and perspective is not the same as pessimism. Young pitchers go through growing pains and bouts with inconsistency. That is normal. What makes you think that because of a couple innings in MLB he's exempt from these issues? Even guys like Lincecum took a while to acclimate to MLB hitting, and he had the advantage of a big park and a weak division. He could come up and be an ace right away, sure, but chances are that's not how it's going to work. And as he makes adjustments, those are games the Sox are probably losing.
  21. What should we do about Daniel Bard? I think people are actually buying the story about fixing the arm slot and the return of his velocity. Suckers
  22. Over small sample sizes, or from a different league with lighter hitting and a bigger stadium. Again, i'm just trying to keep it in perspective here. I think Rubby's going to be very good, but not yet. As for Morales, i think he could be good in the rotation for short bursts, but problematic over long periods of time.@SFF
  23. Mr. Werner, i told you i'd much rather we conduct this order using Mr. Rivera's services. Remember Lackey does like swimming pools a whole lot....
  24. It really isn't. You've got a bunch of unproven guys and guys who have not been able to excel at being SP before and you're talking like they're sure things. They really aren't. In fact, they're more than likely to be downgrades if any of the bottom three succumb to injury for long periods of time. The Aaron Smalls of the world are hard to find, but the Aaron Cooks aren't.
  25. You are about the depth unfortunately. If they get a couple injuries in the rotation, it's very unlikely that things will go as swimmingly as you think.
