  1. Not only that, but OP's tooting his own horn when his alternative to Teixeira was Lars Anderson, who flamed out spectacularly. His proclaiming that he "thought we should have re-signed Beltre" is laughable revisionist history, since he didn't want Beltre in the first place and spent most of that season bashing him. Just wow.
  2. Weak offense
  3. http://www.talksox.com/forum/threads/13370-How-long-can-we-keep-the-candle-lit-for-Beltre?highlight=beltre Thread started by Dojji on 04-30-09 asking for Beltre to be benched, and exposing his dislike and "lack of trust" in Beltre. Now trying to justify his idea to not sign Teixeira (which was based on the idea that we had Lars Anderson the 20X ALL-STAR, NOT THE FACT THAT HE THOUGHT BELTRE WAS THE ANSWER) on Beltre being here. This is comedy gold.
  4. Yet you were full-on against the Beltre signing remember? Attacking Beltre at every opportunity? Now "the right move was signing him". LOL
  5. Kyle Kendrick on the waiver wire. I'm sorry, but i just can't help saying "i told you so".
  6. Not "a bit" he's been struggling mightily. He had a .762 OPS in June, and a .540 OPS in July. He looks like he's making the appropriate adjustments though.
  7. You're also the only person here with a sarcasm detector apparently
  8. Yeah me neither.....THEY BOTH SUCK!
  9. I feel like I may have said this in a separate thread but I really don't see it being worth it. With the amount of prospects it would take, if just 50% of them turn out to be good players, we could have two great players instead of one. That's not a ridiculous bet to make, really. I do love Stanton though. If he doesn't resign in Miami, I'd be okay making a big offer to him.
  10. Ortiz= Bane of pitchers
  11. Aces
  12. Why would WMB come up if Drew gets hurt? The logical option in that case would be XB, since he's a natural SS.
  13. Lol "best franchise in the game". Riiiiiiight.
  14. Better health history. It's a toss up imo.
  15. Harper? Goldschmidt? Posey?
  16. That reminds me of a video game for some reason.
  17. The Sox should significantly improve their differential in the coming couple of weeks. The Tigers are an interesting case. They don't have a much better record because of all the problems their BP has had throughout the season, but their SP and offense are terrifying even with Verlander having a down season.
  18. Even if injury-prone, when healthy Buchholz is a top-flight pitcher. Trading him in order to set up a package to get Stanton weakens the pitching to improve the offense. It's like digging a hole in your backyard so you can fill a hole near your porch.
  19. They actually have a negative (496-522) run differential. Just wow.
  20. I didn't think you were taking a shot at me. I was just saying how surprised i am that the trade turned out this badly. And don't even get me started on Buerhle, who's been the opposite of what he's been in his career. He's been so inconsistent it brings back Dice-K flashbacks.
  21. That trade would make very little sense for the Red Sox. And the Marlins may still not take it.
  22. I don't get it. I didn't like the trade, thinking their rotation wouldn't be up to the task anyway. NL to AL pitchers usually don't pan out, but Josh J has great stuff, yet for some reason he can't get anybody out. His velocity is back to where it was last year, but he's just getting hammered all over the place. Dickey was sure to regress, but he's just sucking balls too. Ridiculous.
  23. Yeah that's another cop-out. When someone calls you out for being wrong, make up a cool story about them being mad and tell them to take a pill, all the while never simply admitting you were wrong. LOL I could not be more chill, laughing my ass off at all the nonsense i read in this thread. LOL.
  24. No one here hates Papelbon. That's just a cop-out so you don't admit you were wrong. Well ital hates him but he doesn't count, because he hates everything.
  25. Josh J gave up 6 ER in 2.1 IP to the Angels today, his ERA now up 6.60. What a disaster.
