  1. Oakland immediately f***ing s*** up in Seattle, plating three against king Felix. Really Mariners?
  2. Right, so why the f*** are you defending a700? He basically spent all of the offseason s***ing on the team and its chances. More astute observers kept noting that just playing to career averages would have the Sox playing for a playoff spot, and some luck could take them all the way. Those observers were laughed out of the house. Just sayin'
  3. Then MANNYHOF24 is insane, because he predicted 95 and an AL East title.
  4. Again, i cannot stress enough how much Buck Showalter can go f*** himself. No smug smile tonight, you tubby piece of s***!
  5. Hey, i predicted 90+ and a playoff spot. I was pretty close.
  6. That's not funny.
  7. Man, so you're telling that a700, he who claims to never be wrong, was absolutely and completely wrong about this team? Because there's a loooooong way between 4th place in the ALE missing the playoffs, and best record in baseball.
  8. Oh right, Richardson. And i know there was another s***** OF he kept pimping, but i just can't remember who it is.
  9. I don't think you know a lot about managing teams, so i'll take your opinion with a grain of salt.
  10. Showalter can really really really really go f*** himself.
  11. He'd still be at around -20 at best.
  12. He's right though. And i mentioned it in another post talking about how Dominicans that go to school in the US tend to have much better plate discipline (Pujols, Pena). It's a stupid idea though, and it's being left behind by some of the big time trainers here. The tide is shifting.
  13. The issue that the player we are discussing is not, by any means, a base clogger.
  14. Is this serious? Tanaka hasn't thrown a single MLB pitch. The chances of him being better than Peavy right off the bat are slim at best. Also, you have no clue (and neither do any of us) about how his stuff will translate to MLB. That being said, why take a big gamble on a ?. And your point about us as fans not "having to care about what the owners do with money" is moronic. Of course we should care, because there is a limit to their resources, and when they reach their limit because they're making stupid signings, then years like 2012 happen. Now i'm not saying they shouldn't look into Tanaka, but come on.
  15. Gabbard did nothing at the MLB level, and Kottaras is a below-replacement level catcher, and you hyped both incessantly. Neither are wins. And you're flat-out lying about the "guys you've gone bonzo for": Gabbard, Kottaras, Hunter Jones, Tug Hullet (let's just go ahead and say anyone who's played for the Royals), Lars Anderson the spectacular flameout, Reddick the one-year wonder (and you banged that drum HARD), Che-Hsuan Lin and all his offensive suck among others i'm sure i could find if i had the time for it. And you've only hit on Nava. 1-for-the-universe.
  16. How important is batting average really going to be if he gets on base at an above-average clip? For that reason alone, the Crisp comparison is moot. They're somewhat similar in skillsets but vastly different in approach.
  17. jung, did you seriously just say that "Ortiz is a free swinger" and later said "he knows what he's looking for, and rarely deviates from his plan"? Do you not see the inconsistencies in your thought process? And you're still beating this WMB topic to death based on the idea that you have that the Red Sox are messing with his approach, which is conjecture at its best, and outright fabrication at its worst.
  18. I think that, with his approach, a .350 OBP for Bradley during his prime should be his floor, not his ceiling.
  19. Nonsense. Cabrera is injured, Verlander isn't the Verlander of old. Cling to this thread of hope if it helps you sleep, but don't be surprised if the Sox beat the Tigers or the Tigers or Sox never meet because they get eliminate by Oakland. Same thing could happen to the Sox, but they're the best team in baseball this year so it's unlikely. The only thing you said in your post that's not clear mindless dabble is the fact that the PO's are a crapshoot.
  20. Jacko's a much more difficult target than Divinity. Jacko's an obnoxious, delusional homer, but at least he's not as stupid as a beauty pageant participant.
  21. What on earth are you talking about? This is a whole bunch of nonsense. Terrible, just terrible.
  22. Girardi is a very good manager? News to me.
  23. You mean 50% Justin Verlander, injured Miguel Cabrera, down-year Prince Fielder no SS Detroit? Yeah we've clearly got no shot at winning. I'd call you a f***ing idiot, but that'd be an insult to f***ing idiots everywhere.
  24. Again, what do you base this on? Can you give me some evidence as to this occurrence? Because from simple observation, Salty's gone from "awful" to "palatable" and McCann has gone from "excellent" to "very good" even though he was recovering from an injury, and doing some research reaffirms this notion. You are terribly overrating Salty and underrating McCann.
  25. What do you base this on? By all accounts, Mcann's defense is rated as way better than Salty's.
