The reason your assessment is incorrect is because you view bringing a kid up to get a taste of the Majors as "being benched", when in reality, it's common practice. How much you know about the 2007 season doesn't matter in this context. What matters is that when a talented kid comes along, the Sox will find a way to give him a chance to play, even if that means sitting/trading a veteran, in complete contrast to what you and SoxSport are saying.
