  1. Does this mean they shouldn't have made the move? Because that makes no sense. They need to improve the defense and offense however they can, and just because they haven't made any other moves doesn't mean that they won't, or that signing Drew makes any less sense.
  2. You're taking my analysis out of context. That's why i said Drew improves "in a vacuum". Bogaerts is a very good offensive contributor that is only going to get better, but his defense at SS is not good. You improve 3B offensively (and maybe even defensively) by moving XB to 3B, while sacrificing a bit of offense but greatly upgrading your D at SS.
  3. You have to use the eye test here. Both SK and SFF know the limitations on UZR (and most defensive stats) when it comes to both small samples and MIF. Let's take the rose-colored glasses off. If he was as good as you think, Drew wouldn't have been resigned.
  4. Bogaerts has been terrible defensively. SK is usually spot on with his assessments, but he's way off the mark here. The Drew signing upgrades both SS and 3B in a vacuum.
  5. AJ Pollock, a player only he gives a s*** about.
  6. Mujica looks like he's about ready to stop sucking. Good.
  7. It's difficult to do anything with strained hamstrings, but that wasn't his point.
  8. Francisco's always had light-tower power, but there's definitely something fishy going in Toronto with all those Dominicans, most of whom have played in the Dominican Winter Leagues and have aroused suspicion there as well.
  9. Bogaerts had started hitting before they resigned Drew, and i don't see how those two things have anything to do with each other. Drew or no Drew, XB's playing time is secure.
  10. I don't see the correlation between lack of speed and Victorino's injury proneness. You are mixing water with oil here.
  11. They wouldn't bite, and why should they? You'd have to significantly sweeten that deal.
  12. That's your opinion, which happens to be both wrong and stupid.
  13. Why do you have to be an ******* about everything? Just because a couple of us still have hopes for the guy because there's still the possibility he gets it together doesn't make anyone an "apologist" with the negative connotation you've attached to it. Go away.
  14. The way this year's shaping up, unless they go on a very good run starting right now, i'd promote from within and prepare for next year.
  15. Man on 2nd, no out, can't score. That just about perfectly defines the Red Sox' 2014 season so far.
  16. Yeah let's trade for Cliff Lee and his strained elbow that may or may not require surgery!
  17. Personally, the main problem i can identify is that i don't have nearly enough booze on hand to put up with the torture the Red Sox are subjecting me to right now.
  18. I'm sure the FO isn't overly concerned about what we as fans "see". 24 is young, and he still has less than a half-year of experience. If he hasn't turned it on when the weather fully warms up, then the Sox should start looking at other options.
  19. Yeah, but that's neither here nor there. Different players take different amounts of time to adjust to MLB pitching. Do you know how much and for how long Carlos Gomez sucked at the MLB level before becoming a superstar?
