Buchholz has an exexution problem. As much as I am pro-stats, there are some things they simply can't detect, like Buch's tendency to groove pitches in the middle of the strike zone as soon as he loses his tempo. Check his strike zone analysis if you don't believe me.

This is where you and many others miss the point. They didn't skip on signing Shields et al because of money. They didn't sign him because they're reluctant to give long deals to pitchers on the wrong side of 30, and they haven't done so for half a decade. The Panda signing did not preclude them from signing a pitcher.

Good post, but unrealistic. Some people just can't contain themselves, it's the nature of the internet. Not saying I'm not part of the problem as I clearly am, but I've tried being amicable to all three members of the FOM (especially fred) with disastrous results. As I've said several times, you can be critical of the team/individual players/FO without being an insufferable prick, as many here are. It's not that hard. Also, as YOTN mentioned before, the Mayweathering © as in, needle then duck, has to stop. You can't expect to constantly s*** on other posters and expect to get a free pass.
