The fish offered Reyes 6/90. He's been adamant about wanting $100M, so they may be close, but $10M is a lot for a thrifty organization. They also haven't talked to Hanley about switching to CF (where they want him). Could it be possible that they move Hanley for another big bat? -
They can have Crawford too.

He's under contract. He's a great utility guy who can play virtually anywhere. He has the ability to start for stretches, but I wouldn't rely on him for extended periods.

I'd explore the deal, but as others have said, we will be losing our RH on-base machine. We would need to replace that, and then get another RH bat or 2. I think we're better off keeping Youk unless we can package him for David Wright, which is just a pipe dream.

I read that Dale Sveum and at least one other candidate are being interviewed again. I think Sveum would be a good manager, as long as he brings in a pitching coach with a lot of experience.

10/30 - A Brewers spokesperson confirmed that the club has declined the $17.5MM option on Francisco Rodriguez, tweets MLB.com's Adam McCalvy. He will receive a buyout of $3.5MM. The Mets are responsible for the buyout.

I know just about every one of those pitchers isn't moving, I was just making a point. We will not sign Jackson. Boras will be looking for something in the neighborhood of at least 5/50. Jackson doesn't miss starts and puts up quality seasons.
