  1. If FO concentrates on pitching both starting and in the pen then as part of that process issues in the day to day lineup will sort themselves out. This team had no problem scoring runs and yet didn't make the playoffs. Concentrate on the important not a relatively mariginal problem like another outfielder.
  2. And the red sox need another left handed hitting outfielder because?????
  3. "The cemetery is full of inexpendable men" Charles de Gaulle. Wakefield time has passed. The last few starts were painful and sad.
  4. It may seem quaint now but allegedly there were clubhouse issues with Orlando Cabrara that resulted in his not returning.
  5. It is one of the few pleasures of being my age. All my old jokes (and stories) are new again. !
  6. Guess you are old enough!
  7. Excellent point. Although I am not one who believes as some have suggested that a manager with a strong background in pitching obviates the need for a strong pitching coach. I'd like to see both.
  8. Huh! are you sure you meant Bard not Aceves. Bard was only drafted in 06. Didn't debut until 09. He now has three pitches.
  9. Even if he didn't need it he was going to have it done. This was the only face saving way out this mess for both Lackey and the Red Sox
  10. From Bard's body language when in a closer's role, I've gotten the idea he really isn't comfortable closing.
  11. While I agree, I am not 100% convinced that Paps want to stay in Boston if the money is equal.
  12. Excellent point! Time to move on.
  13. Fred they say the conditioning and strength guy was okay but the players who needed him most blew him off and he was powerless to do anything about because the FO wouldn't back him up.
  14. Crazy for Lazy! I don't think so!
  15. If you watched Felger et al tonight on Comcast, the problem is far bigger then the manager. It is a lack of character on the part of cewrtain ballplayers. In this sense one could blame the Front office for not taking stregnth of character into account when selecting players.
  16. So is horse s***!
