  1. He's pitching as good as Ive seen. When he's on he's filthy.
  2. We need a f... veteran power bat. That will change everything with this team. I have no problem trading Groome for the right guy....
  3. Verlander, Miggy, for Price, Swihart, Johnson, and etc. Then send ERod, Chavis, Groome for Darvish.
  4. I'd rather give Brentz a look see than trade for a rental. If DD makes a move, it has to be for the future. We need a veteran power guy that we can control for a couple years.
  5. Interesting Moncada's playing 2b. Went 1 for 5 today and struck out 4 times. I'm sure this kid will eventually live up to the billing, but from what we saw last year and so far this year, he has a lot to figure out hitting wise. At least he won't be under the pressure he would be here unless it lasts. With the way Sale has pitched for us, we still had to make this deal all day long. Until a player establishes himself, you just never know, and then injuries and health issues arise.
  6. Hope we can somehow get Stanton before the Yankees do and believe me they will try.. If not this year then next.
  7. So true, and as far as Price goes, I have a bad feeling it isn't going to end good for him here. I know pitchers like him don't come walking through the door too often, but right now I think he's a good trade chip that could be packaged for a stud hitter. I know a lot of people will say no way, but I would try under the radar to move him.
  8. Again, I hope the Rook takes right off. I'm pretty sure he will be a stud, but maybe not right out of the gait. We'll see. Somehow DD has to obtain a Veteran power hitter for this team. How I don't know but that's why he makes the big bucks. If he can get a young power hitter under team control for the future, I would include a kid like Groome. He has all the potential in the world, but if you have to get something because you truly believe your team has a shot at it, expect to give something up. As we all know, no way of knowing what these young pitchers will become.
  9. Agree, Price needs to man up. If it was the other way around, I think Eck would have had the nuts to talk to David on the side and settle it. Funny, nothing being said by Farrell.
  10. Agree, just one major screw up. Today you can't under value a player like Shaw. Young, great potential etc. You better be sure when you trade a young guy like that. Remember the Bagwell for Anderson trade. Lou Gorman later stated years after he would have done it again?????? Back then just to get a sniff at the playoffs was huge, but really. I liked Lou Gorman, he was a pisser, but back to the point it's all about talent evaluation.. ala Bill Belichek..
  11. Agee, the other players involved no names mentioned are just as responsible. Just not the way to handle a situation like this. Sounds like Farrell didn't get involved either, but who knows what went on later on. Maybe we will play better when we fight like the Bronx Zoo. Things were too boring anyway..
  12. With the way this team is set up, I would gamble on Miggy. A change of scenery and to a team in a playoff race would light him up. We need a veteran power hitter and thats that. Without one, we won't go too far. That is unless Dever's pulls a Judge.......
  13. F... Price, why didn't he have the balls to confront ECK without everyone around him. He's a f.. *******. Trade his f... ass out of Boston before his arm falls off. He is one of the most over rated players and is not a big time pitcher. Trade him to the National L. and get something for him. I heard the comment ECK made about EROD"S rehab game and he said YUCK>.. WTF.. Nobody was happy about his outing because we were all rooting for him to get back to the rotation. Price was probably more pissed about forgetting to cover first base and took that as an excuse. Grow the hell up. Candy ass...
  14. Put Devers at first and Shaw at third. Oh thats right we traded Shaw. Me bad...
  15. I love Bogey, but the big question is how good of a hitter will he become. At times he flashes the leather, and sometimes not so much, but he can play ss for me any day. I figured him to be a 25- 30 HR guy while hitting around .290 - .300 and driving in 90 - 120 RBI"s. When in his prime I still think these stats are him.. I hope.
  16. He has hit a all levels and will eventually settle in at the show. How he does defensively is another topic, but we need him to hit. If he isn't quite ready and goes back down so what. He will be a stud sooner or later. Hopefully he hits the ground running and produces enough to put an end to the 3b discussion.
  17. So much for shut down innings. The last 2 the gopher ball. Stilll, pitching good enough to win.
  18. Devers, Groome, and throw in Holt for Travis Shaw. DD won't do it because he knows we fans aren't stupid..
  19. You know, this is why Farrell sucks. Tell the hitters to make this F.... guy throw some pitches. WTF
  20. Yankees testing the waters on Stanton. I doubt if they can pull it off, but if they do, big problem....
  21. Moreland swings at first pitch and grounds out. What ever happened to making the pitcher work and get the pitch count up.
  22. I would Dh him one game, give an outfielder some rest one game, etc which would maybe give him a 7 - 10 day window to see if anything has changed with him. Probably not, but right now any player we have under contract putting up numbers has to be considered.
  23. Brentz. Bring him up and tell him to swing from his ass..lol Matter of fact, bring em both.
  24. No one outside of Sale on this team is untradable. If JBJ gets you some one huge you wouldn't do it. Do I want to see him go, no. I still believe we need that huge impact bat to take over for Ortiz. No one will ever be Papi, but game changers like Arenado, Stanton, Trout, Harper, etc. come available if lucky maybe once. You better to be willing to pounce on it and have the assets to do so. Look at the way the Celtics are building. They have the assets right now to pounce on that one player ala Davis to put them into the championship. One thing we have to remember is how much Ortiz made everyone around him better. We aren't that far off, but some how DD has to pull a rabbit out of his hat... The Yanks are starting to load up also, so its game on again..
