  1. and the A's won in epic style yohoooo!!
  2. dude that is crazy, he has nothing proven at the MLB level. why give away Ells and Webster for someone at 1st base who has yet to prove himself. Is he going to be any better than Mauro Gomez? on offense.. nope. on defense yep. i dont see any upside here.
  3. Nats get no offense, well what did they expect its Carpenter for crying out loud..
  4. some fans fret their frustration in words, some get silent to take their frustration out. just different way of vehementing
  5. Haren or Greinke take your pick. Greinke has a 3.48 ERA compared to 4.33ERA for Haren However both players against the AL East teams, the teams are batting a .250+ avg. slightly on the higher side. some stats here http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/batvspitch/_/id/5565/teamId/10/dan-haren http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/batvspitch/_/id/5883/teamId/10/zack-greinke

  7. Brad Mills cannot do anything to this team. we need a Cito Gaston type guy someone who doesnt need to work to get respect in the clubhouse.
  8. i dont care if BV BC LL gets fired. get Josh Johnson somehow that would be a start. can Aceves be trusted to start next year? he just imploded the moment he was put in closing role and never really got his groove back.
  9. i love this young bullpen, cant wait for next year to start already! I wish Wilson/Carpenter can be switched to a starter and stick there for crying out loud. when was the last time our farm system produced a decent Starting pitcher.. Jon Lester back in 06.. Clay Buchholz in 07. since then it has been crapshoot. yep we did give up Casey Kelley but oh well.
  10. 1 page yankee redsox thread.. never thought that would have happened. times have changed.
  11. spoke like a true yankee fan :thumbdown
  12. just be our luck aint it.
  13. the team is just being pathetic.. this season cant get over fast enough but i sure am rooting for the A's to win it this year. after all it has a lot of ex-redsox players.
  14. the A's team looks very similar to 2004 Redsox.. Gomes is like Millar, Moss has a Damon quality.. i am loving this A's team even more The moneyballers better win it this year!
  15. Beckett pitching like an ace in dodgers uniform. Figures.
  16. you are dedicated man for living in Scotland ..up late in the night and watching this BS team loose one game after another.. hats off to you!
  17. F1 is back this weekend with the my best circuit "SPA" Belgian GP. with teams upgrading their cars in minor ways, it will be exciting dash to the finish, can Ferrari survive the resurging Hamilton, can Vettel get back in the mix of it..
  18. really, did not know that.. who was it?
  19. the only thing i dont like about him is rubbing the guys the wrong way. he should have authority over Pedey or anybody in the clubhouse but he needs to earn that as well. Its mutual.
  20. i would give him 3/30
  21. interesting article here, check out our farm system from 2005 that was rock solid.... http://www.providencejournal.com/sports/red-sox/content/20120825-deal-helps-restock-bostons-farm-system.ece 2011 4. Anthony Ranaudo 8. Matt Barnes Ranaudo has endured a lost season thanks to shoulder issues, and significant questions have followed about his ability to pitch in the major leagues. 2010 1. Casey Kelly 4. Anthony Ranaudo 5. Drake Britton 8. Felix Doubront 9. Stolmy Pimentel Doubront has been one of the most encouraging developments for the Red Sox this season, making 22 starts and striking out 119 hitters in 1222/3 innings. After rough seasons a year ago, Britton and Pimentel have bounced back, but it’s uncertain whether either can be a starting pitcher in the major leagues. 2009 2. Casey Kelly 6. Junichi Tazawa Kelly was traded to San Diego in the first Gonzalez deal. Tazawa has been a reliever all season and likely will be a reliever for the rest of his career. 2008 2. Michael Bowden 3. Nick Hagadone 4. Daniel Bard 6. Casey Kelly 10. Stolmy Pimentel Bowden is among the most disappointing prospects in recent memory, dominating as a starter and a reliever at Triple-A Pawtucket but never panning out in the majors. 2007 1. Clay Buchholz 4. Justin Masterson 7. Michael Bowden 8. Nick Hagadone Before Doubront this season — and Doubront hasn’t exactly lit the world on fire — Buchholz was the last capable major-league starter the Red Sox produced from their farm system. 2006 2. Clay Buchholz 3. Michael Bowden 4. Daniel Bard 7. Bryce Cox 8. Craig Hansen 9. Kris Johnson Johnson likewise was a tremendous disappointment, a supplemental-first-round pick who washed out at Triple A. 2005 2. Jon Lester 3. Jonathan Papelbon 4. Craig Hansen 8. Manny Delcarmen 10. Clay Buchholz Lester, Papelbon, Buchholz — and even Delcarmen, who was a useful bullpen piece for several years. That’s what the Red Sox are trying to get back to.
