I am inclined to agree with you here. Interesting that just everything was going great for awhile and everything has turned south at once.....really not though...you still have to say that Lester, buch and Lackey and even Dempster have done pretty well. They have not fallen just completely apart. Could not expect them to go as strong as they were going for very long.

We have avoided it since offing Agons but there has been a fair amount of big 1st baseman suckage the last couple years.

The interesting thing about Farrell as manager in Canada is while most of his headlines were about outs on the base paths, underlying that was a fair bit of press about overusing some arms out of the pen and running through pen arms like crazy. Granted the Jays ended up with some injuries in the pen but to be frank much of what you can read regarding Farrell's use of the Toronto pen pretty closely mirrors what we have seen here. Use of the pen has been about my only complaint about Farrell. You would have to give Farrell a pretty positive report card on balance so far. However use of the pen is something of a concern I think.

I don't know why they are warming Tax either but the way he has used the pen is the one major complaint I have about Farrell so far. The last couple days have been such a blur...maybe Taz is in for lack of work. When did he go last?

Sort of grabbing at straws when talking about somebody as young and unpolished as Webster. I know its not good news but he is just too young and inexperienced to be here yet. We'd like it to work cause nothing else looks very appealing. But, the FO is going to have to figure something out cause the answer is not Webster.....not yet.

They may try a few different things but really they need a real deal ML starter. They won't be able to grab a stud at this point. At least I don't think so. However they will probably try to grab up somebody with ML experience and try to make a go of it. Anybody out of the system at this point is going to be a roll of a pair of dice that has ones on four of the six sides. I would expect a number of efforts out of the system while they try to find somebody they can grab. I don't expect any of the efforts out of the system to pan out and be more than single start efforts. May bring back Ace and give that a shot. That is probably more likely than the other system options.

Felix is not even trying to throw many FB's tonight it seems...Does not want to throw it...I don't blame him. But you can't look at that and say he should be starting games going forward. He may end up being all they have but frankly I would expect him to get shelled throwing the way he has thrown.... the last couple of weeks especially.

But this is really just a manifestation of Webster's youth....sort of unfair to him. He is not ready to be here. It really isn't more complicated than that. We do have to do something though...I totally agree with that. I just think we are kidding ourselves to think that Web is an answer at this stage of his career. If we are not careful we will ruin him in the process.

Ad in the Thursday Globe classified section: Wanted, metals repair......crew to provide needed repairs to wall made from overlapping metal plates. Must be able to provide expert repairs to dents, dings, scrapes, scratches and then paint.....number of individual repairs needed...countless......time allowed....1 afternoon!

Felix is not a relief pitcher...never was, never will be. Heck I guess he is barely a starter any more.
