  1. Thank God. We will not have to listen to no hit garbage from the broadcast booth for the duration of the game. Peavey has a shot but they won't be ball washing with Peavey.
  2. I think they have dropped him in the lineup in response to his worsening injury situation. Not sure if he playing poorly because of it but he is playing poorly.
  3. I think WMB has had some of his best AB's in the post season and everybody has been going so badly that it is hard to pick him out and say we should drop him out of the lineup. I wanted Naps out of the lineup for the Sunday game because not only did he look terrible, he looked demoralized. I thought a day would do him some good. But I wanted him right back in today because the Sox really do need him. so whatever it takes to get him going, that is what the Sox need to do. Today was the only day that I thought WMB really struggled. It was to me his worst day at the plate in this series. However I still don't see an opening for XB at this point. I do really hope there are more opportunities to bat XB during this series. This is a really really tight series though. Don't see how we can dislodge Drew from SS and XB would have needed more playing time at 3rd to be in a position to dislodge Will from that position.
  4. The problem with Iggy and the Sox is the Sox would have always struggled being comfortable with Iggy. Even if they kept him, every time he had a slump they would be second guessing themselves. Iggy is an atypical Red Sox SS and as much as I like him, I just never saw the Sox willing to stick it out with Iggy. I many times said here long before the Peavey trade was even a twinkle in anybodies eye that Iggy was not long for a Sox uni. Once you come to terms with that, it boils down to what they could get for him and when they pulled the trigger.
  5. Actually the relative dif in the pens have really been big through this series so far even with the starters getting all the headlines.
  6. Holy f***ing s*** we beat Verlander.....die pussy cats die
  7. This ******* again...put him down Koji
  8. Unf***ing believable...back to back taz and ueh were frankly....perfect
  9. Not only did Taz get Cabrera but he was also pitching him in locations that would have made it tough on him with his hip situation. That was a hell of a job by Taz.
  10. I can't believe that...they were getting some pitches to hit as well....not sure what Vic was swinging at...that did not looks so juicy that he had to first pitch swing at that thing
  11. Crap I can't believe he got under that...thought he was going to crush that
  12. Toooorrri,,,,,Toooorrrrri......Toooorrrri
  13. Oh for crying out loud...Bres had him...just could not throw a strike
  14. I have no problem with John wanting to stay in there, But I gotta be OK with Bres against the LH hitter. This is a huge opportunity for the Sox.
  15. Very nice cut Ells..did not try to do too much with that
  16. Why swing at that....that was a defensive swing with less than two strikes. How does that make any sense. What are you defending against, a strike??? Holy s***!
  17. John has got the breaking stuff working great today...maybe best breaking ball all year for him. Location unreal!!
  18. f***ing Peralta....MLB should be ashamed of themselves. Not trying to foretell this series at all but what the f*** would MLB do if Peralta turned out to be the ALCS MVP. How the f*** embarrassing would that be??? Never should have allowed any of the guys that were involved and taking their fines to come back this year....just idiotic. But what else is new....its been Selig-world fir that last few decades!
  19. Still don't understand why the Sox hitters for the most part have not narrowed up their zone with less than two strikes. Tiger pitchers have had them just completely off balance because they are throwing strikes in great locations. But trying to cover the whole plate is just playing into the great pitcher's hands. They are getting some pitches to hit if they were just prepared for them and looking for them. Hard to hit this way though.
  20. And you sit down also hippo
  21. If David had made contact with the pitch before the loud out pitch he would have put that one into orbit.
  22. Lackey innings two and three was night and day to inning one. Couple bad pitches through that stretch but he really did turn it around. Just has to be careful not to toss a cookie up to the wrong guy. Man Ortiz had a good pitch there for him to hit.
  23. Lights out on a day when they are bucking up against a coming rain storm. Well, if it does pour, I am sure we would be happy to see Verlander used up with the game continuing with whatever pitchers the managers decide on tomorrow.
  24. I actually think Hunter never had a shot at catching that. There is just so far you can reach over the fence and I don't think Hunter could have gotten closer to the ball than he was even if he had gotten back to the wall before the ball got there. One hell of a shot by Ortiz....maybe his most memorable of all the memorable shots we have seen him hit over the years....astounding that he is still the man at age 38!
