The problem with Iggy and the Sox is the Sox would have always struggled being comfortable with Iggy. Even if they kept him, every time he had a slump they would be second guessing themselves. Iggy is an atypical Red Sox SS and as much as I like him, I just never saw the Sox willing to stick it out with Iggy. I many times said here long before the Peavey trade was even a twinkle in anybodies eye that Iggy was not long for a Sox uni. Once you come to terms with that, it boils down to what they could get for him and when they pulled the trigger.
