  1. This IS the dilemma for Cora. This IS exactly how Wright should be used post season. Bring him in no later than the 6th inning. If you bring him into the 5th and he really has the knuckler working through 5th and 6th then you can give him the 7th as well. But this pen is so bad I am afraid Cora will be tempted to bring him in late in games. If Wright does not have it we won't have enough outs left to play with to come back from a deficit.
  2. DD comes in for some criticism here too. He has never and i do mean never learned how to build a pen. Its getting to the point where I think he is simply incapable either because he just does not care about a pen IN THE ERA OF THE PEN or he just can't do it.
  3. Wright a knuckleballer gets more extension toward home plate than Hembree does when Hembree is short arming his pitches. Like I said, I could not even get the post up before the ball was already sitting in the RF grandstands. Hembree is shor...........BANG....never mind.
  4. But to be clear, I am not putting this on Cora specifically though he is the Manager. I am not putting it on Eddie specifically, not on Vaz, not on Lavanche and not entirely on Hembree. Hembree can only be Hembree for God sake. Get up off your dead ass Lavanche. This tonight and actually this series is a failure of the entire organization that manages this team's pitching.
  5. You actually can't manage good pitching this badly and expect to get anywhere in the post season...never mind your 4th starter and your PEN OF PAIN. Horrible...just horrible.
  6. to be honest it is on the entire enterprise that is engaged in the pitching set up from battery choice tonight and how they prepared to pitch this game tonight to starters for this series through Cora's reluctance to take Eddie out when it was clear that Vaz/Eddie had no clue to the PEN OF PAIN and Lavanche again doing nothing to stop Hembree from short arming his pitches. Just a putrid performance so far from everybody involved in the pitching for this team.
  7. There have been times this year when I have wanted Lavanchi to not even leave the dugout...just yell out to Hembree "YOU'RE SHORT ARMING THE BALL AGAIN!" It is so damned obvious when he is doing it and the results are so predictable.
  8. I could not even get the post up. Did you guys notice Hembree was short arming the ball AGAIN.
  9. Well I said last night that MAYBE...MAYBE in tight games Eddie could pitch in this park DEPENDING ON WHO IS CATCHING. Geezus this team has really got me frustrating with the way they are managing the pitching in this park. Price should not have pitched at all in this series and Sandy should have been worked in to catch Eddie. Vaz/Eddie has been clueless....lucky to be in this game at all.
  10. Really tempted to just close my eyes and listen for the sound of bat hitting ball
  11. Ya' gotta' credit OB for his eternal optimism. Eddie is 81 pitches in for not quite 4 innings...about 12 of the 81 have made any sense at all as far as how the game has been called AND pitched. But OB is optimistic.
  12. Even though we are leading, I am calling this the worst battery performance of the year. They don't know what they are doing out there and frankly what they have been trying to do with the Yankee lineup in this park is pretty close to suicidal. Not to mention, Vaz is rolling through about 12 signs before they can decide on anything.
  13. We need more runs here. I don't like anything that E-rod/Vaz have tried or are trying. It does not help that after hitting the mitt, held off the zone early, now E-rod is not hitting anything location-wise. But we need runs. E-rod IMO is not suddenly going to get better tonight. Plus he will be outta' here in 6 innings tops. Thank you Brock Holt.
  14. For God sake ump...why don't you just walk out to the mound and kiss Tanaka's dick
  15. Atta boy Mookie. I actually have wanted Mookie to go back to being a spray hitter. He has been frustrated by his lack of power and he has gotten a little pull happy on top of everything else that has been bothering him.
  16. Thanks ump
  17. Eddie is just asking for it.
  18. E-rod is going to be sucking on one of these doink jobs any minute now
  19. Will they never learn!
  20. You are not going to make out so good throwing cutters up and over the plate against Judge.
  21. I don't like ANYTHING this battery is coming up with so far.
  22. Come on battery. Hold the mitt over the corner at least for the lead off hitter and throw it to the black E-rod.
  23. I know Lyons talked about laying off the pitches below the belt knowing they are going to finish in the dirt. If Tanaka has that low stuff working you have to get him early in the count. Two strikes and you are dead. But hey we got a run out of that anyway.
  24. We CAN adjust but the time to do it is when you are still facing some pitchers that are not the best in the league as during this regular season of sludge for example. If you have not done it by post season don't expect to do it then. The pitching game to game will be the best we will have faced all year and that is no time to try to make adjustments. They have had two months to do it and haven't done it yet. This stuff ain't rocket science.
  25. Notice how many FB's Sevarino threw out of the zone? He was never in the zone with any of them. He simply used it as an out pitch rising out of the zone or so far on the black or just off the black inside that the only thing you could do with it if you did hit it was drive it foul. Both were unhittable in the locations where he threw them. He was never in the zone with his FB and that is exactly how you pitch the Sox successfully. In addition he pitched to his ballpark. Outside to the LH hitters and inside and challenge to the RH hitters. Again, anybody that thinks the Sox two month power outage is some accident is just dreaming. Remember our power outage is right at the top and in the middle of our order. Its Mookie and Beni and JD and Moreland that were hitting them but that are not hitting HR's now. The league knows how to pitch to us now and as the season has wound down you can almost bet games if you are a betting man by who is pitching for the other guys.
