The gotta' give up a run to get an out bullpen. Not sure I have ever seen anything like it on a team this good.

We won't see Mookie now for two to three weeks. You don't mess with that side strain because that is on the way to an oblique.

The real occupants of the pen of pain today...Pom, Hembree, Kelly. Had to check the liquor cabinet to make sure I was fully stocked.

There has literally been no reason to bring Pom into any game for over a week now. He is NOT going to the post season roster or shouldn't. This smells more like the "franchise" trying to eek out some last bit of value going into the post season from a guy that is just done for now. All Pom is doing is robbing innings from guys that might be able to make it to the post season roster. What do we have...80-90 pitchers in here trying to make the post season roster?

And once they get to 2nd base or 3rd base is it not easier to get those runners home on a sac fly or some other effort by the offense, especially a decent offense?

I understand that. But the context is Wright late in games...not generally stealing bases. The Astros run good enough, are athletic enough to make us pay for Wright's usual nonsense if he is used late in games.

Brasier made the post season roster a week ago. The only reason Poyner might be in question is because they keep waiting for Pom to do something to justify his money. Does not appear it will happen though.

And this against a team that does not run. You want to see Wright late in a game against a team that runs even a little.

I don't mind seeing Wright on the post season roster. But thinking he is a set up man is insane IMO.
