  1. Cora can't bring Weber back out. The Sox have climbed back into this game.
  2. Figured JBJ would hit this guy.
  3. GEEZUS'. You sure saved the Rotation Alex. That worked!
  4. If we don't score this inning, just as well bring neck Tat out. He has been Russian Roulette lately. Either there is a round in the first chamber or down there in the third or fourth. At 6-3, just as soon play Russian Roulette.
  5. Nate has been in the dugout. Anybody know when he is due to be available to pitch?
  6. X had him as he was off the bag
  7. He spends too much time and effort whining about umps. If he did a good job BROADCASTING, I would not mind as much. But he doesn't and neither does OB for that matter. Plate ball and strike calls.....NESN provides enough video data that we don't need Eck either telling us or whining on air. We can see it with our own eyes. Did we get a single view of the Sox Bullpen last night in the critical 8th and 9th inning nor a comment from the booth about who if anybody was warming up? NOPE! Too busy whining about ball and strike calls.
  8. i don't mind us fans complaining about umps but I am truly tired of Eck whining about them. Broadcast the game.
  9. Mercado is an absolute joke trying to play in our RF.
  10. Earth to Cora: Based on the stats just discussed, Beni does not want to lead off
  11. So what are you saying with that call up and in ump, that you are setting up off the plate. That makes sense.
  12. JBJ could have some fun with this guy. He is not going to blow JBJ away with a FB
  13. Please God don't let this guy hurt you with two on and two out kid
  14. spanked....two hits, one out, one run.....sorry, two runs
  15. There is that. But I have already given up on that one myself. Cora's heels are entirely dug in on that one. Then again, Beni does not deserve to bat 2nd either. He should be farther down in the order.....much farther down.
  16. Really like this lineup and order. Holt at 2nd, Chavis at 1st. The play Chavis made at 2nd last night is a 3rd baseman's play. Step and a dive. He still has lousy footwork for a 2nd baseman and two left feet around the actual 2nd base bag. like him at 1st. Still would need tons of coaching and tons of repetitions to even be a competently below average 2nd baseman and tons more to be anything more than that at 2nd base. But notice the Sox PR dept is already full bore all in on Chavis. Photoshopped graphics of Chavis next to Betts, Chavis facial fuzz photoshopped away. Here it comes folks. We are about to get the full Sox PR blitz if it is not already in full force.

  18. That makes sense to me as a benchmark as last i looked, across AAA, they were all [until this year] with some variance league to league using baseballs roughly equivalent to the 2000-2010 official MLB baseballs. To me one of the most interesting aspects of the 2019 official MLB baseball is not that it just keeps going and going even more than the rocket ship balls of the last couple years but that through 1/3 of the season, I have yet to find an OFer that has adapted to this thing even with their 2016 through 2018 experience. None of them have. Our guys have not as yet including JBJ and Mookie. You can see them out there virtually feeling for plays. JBJ who lives off his reads is doing better than our other OFers. But even he is struggling with this thing.
  19. And what would JD do if he lead off and got to 1st base. Stand there waiting for somebody to drive him around? No wait, he might try to steal second, train wreck with a middle infielder, hurt his back again and put himself on the shelf for a week or two. Better yet, lets put JD in the OF more. That worked out real good! This concentration on power stats being the end all be-all of baseball is frankly ridiculous. Worse, Commissioner Manfred is apparently all on board as I think it likely that he personally picked the 2019 rocket ship baseball which is clearly hotter than the 2016 rocket ship baseball, the 2017 rocket ship and the 2018 rocket ship.
  20. IMO the Sox will not make an immediate move to resolve the Pen issues. The Rotation is coming on and if it stays healthy with the 5 guys intended getting close to the number of starts anticipated, it is the strength of this team as management intended. i expect a move closer to the deadline if at all. Spotty hitting is hardly better than no hitting at all and that is what we have, spotty hitting. Devers is on fire at present. JBJ has entered his golden two-three weeks per season. Whoopdie-dingdong. There is something going on with Mookie. He is spotty at the plate and spotty in the field at least for our GG/MVP RFer. JD is far and away the only hitter we have performing at a consistently high level. After JD, its a wasteland all the way to Vaz. In fact, their fielding has been spotty as a team as well. Cora is going to have to manage this pen for awhile I fear. Last night was a disaster. I did not wake up from my rain delay nap and missed Workman in the 7th. Saw Barnes bail out Walden. NESN sucks balls as a broadcast crew but is as usual on their Sox PR game. So as usual I have no idea how long Lakin actually got to warm in the pen BECAUSE NESN DOES NOT SHOW US WHAT IS GOING ON OUT THERE. Too busy commenting about Home Plate ump calls as if we cannot see for ourselves if a call should have been a ball or a strike. Seems like Lakin got maybe about 8 pitches out there and he pitched like it. So the real failing last night was Cora's. What was Cora doing running Brasier out there to close yet again? Why was Workman used in the 7th when he could have been an option to close? Why was Hembree not brought in to the 9th to close. The 9th was a clean inning which means that while neither Work or Hembree are closers, they would have been better options than the now entirely defunct Brasier. Instead he brings in Brasier who implodes so quickly that I guess the Sox brain trust was musing instead of getting somebody up. Then in the bottom of the 9th inning, apparently Cora had nobody up in anticipation that his offense might have come back to tie! WHAT THE f*** IS GOING ON OVER THERE. Between Cora's grand strategy of putting the Rotation in a hammock for ST and the games he has tossed so far this regular season he is beginning to run up a heck of a tally of "Blown Games by Manager".
  21. Our own RFers should be the last guys on the planet surprised by the optical illusion caused by the RF bulge that runs out to the bullpens. But it appears to me that Mookie has been surprised by it twice in two weeks. Then again, show me an OFer that has adapted to the 2019 version of the rocket ship baseball and I will show you an anomaly.
  22. Work would have worked as well for me as the 9th starts out a clean inning. Again no surprise that Cora went with Brasier. Myself given that neither Work or Hembree are really closers if both were available I would have chosen based on the projected 9th inning batters for the Guardians. Not sure I would have used either Hembree or Workman in the 7th and left myself with Brasier to close. Cora is pretty stubborn though. In fact, given my previous comments about Brasier it is likely obvious to the board that I would not have chosen to leave myself with Brasier unless the entire rest of the pen suddenly got the Measles.
  23. Yea sorry about that. Slept through the 7th completely. Just woke in time to see Barnes bail out Walden.
  24. OK thanks....did not wake up from snooze till Barnes came in for Walden. Missed the 7th entirely. That by the way is another thing the crack [of my ass] NESN broadcast crew never gives us is the sequence from starter through the relievers through the night.
