  1. Vaz confused that Laz is not calling pitches 2 and 3 to the first batter strikes.
  2. As usual with Eck he blathers out one gem amongst a bunch of gibberish. He's right. The ump cannot give pitchers both sides of the plate unless he wants to see hitters helpless.
  3. Why in your life would you throw Chavis that pitch again EVER. Guy in the first game sort of relied on off speed stuff. But to come out and throw a slider to Chavis first pitch is sort of comatose at this point when any old FB from the waist up will do.
  4. Apparently umping two games in one day is more than Laz can take.
  5. What's that line from Charlie Wilson's War.... You [in this case Sox] would depress a bride on her wedding night.
  6. Meh...1-6 in the order has basically been about as reliable as New England Weather. If you can get that going THEN you can start to worry about 7-9. X has been solid. Devers having a true breakout year. Thought JD was as reliable as we had until SOMEBODY put him in the OF!!!!
  7. Yup, Cash was my choice last year and he was pretty far down the list as it turned out.
  8. Wow....Two straight 8 inning stints by their starters (1 of them 7 2/3rd). Two completely different ways of going about getting outs....equally successful.
  9. Hate thinking about what will happen to this Sox team playing in that dungeon in Tampa rest of this year.
  10. Sox went from a pitcher that challenged them all game long last night to one that is fooling them all game long today. Results so far, painfully similar.
  11. Well, we can wait another 60 games or so for the next JBJ run.
  12. Geez I wonder if a baseball game will break out sometime today.
  13. Brain lock tends to be terminal with baseball players. Once they screw up a play they usually need some sunflower seeds or an extra chew and a think to reset. It rarely reverses during the play itself. In Billy Martin's day a play like that would earn you an immediate spot on the bench so you could have a good long think. "its a home run, a home run....whoops no its not, no its not....but I made it I made it, I made it." Didn't stay on the bag....DIPSHIT.
  14. You could make an entire roster out of dipshits admiring their blasts instead of running. Its not like we have not seen our own guys doing it.
  15. My God this abortion has a 12-10 score written all over it. One of our older fans hit the nail right on the head. This year's team is so reminiscent of the Sox teams of my youth. Slug feasts bracketed by games when we were just whitewashed by some pitcher that could actually pitch. IMO we are going to have to hope that the Yankees, Rays and every other decent team in this league bumps along at just over .500 ball. What are the chances of that?
  16. Its almost unheard of anymore for a pitcher to challenge like this for 7 innings. He lost the plate for awhile when he had to pitch from the stretch for the first time so late in the stint. But he has challenged every hitter both sides of the plate and just said "I am going to beat you". Next time we face this guy there will be a bunch of sox that suddenly caught the flu.
  17. Refreshing to have Brock Holt back
  18. Good lungs on Guiren. I would hate to see TC try to spit out that much info without taking a breath. Probably be ambulatory.
  19. "Give us all you have for as long as you can every 5th day and then we will bring in our limousine full of relief pitchers". Its Bull s***.
  20. Why don't we ever get pitchers like this. This time its not a sarcastic comment. We never get pitchers like this unless we buy them. That is hard to do all the time.
  21. I hate what they have done to this game. Ruining it IMO.
  22. Funny thing is that Chirinos is just challenging us every pitch. He is throwing pitches to RH hitters that are just beating them. Location too good and stuff too good. The LH hitters he is just challenging himself to keep those pitches out of the LH hitter honey spot and he's doing it. Those are perfect pitches he is making to the LH hitters.
  23. Honestly, if you think the dif in hitting 97 in that location is homework, I beg to differ. Sox have had some opportunities tonight, not many but some. That IMO was not one of them.
