  1. Geez JD looks flat terrible....I mean terrible
  2. Ouch...my POSIIVITY BONE is now aching.
  3. I would contend that Mookie would be a fool to say otherwise. What benefit would accrue to Mookie for opening up that hornet's nest? I neither know nor care if Mookie is entirely truthful on this point. I know how I myself would not have been all that comfortable with the Sox organization pushing "JD as team leader" narrative via their PR arm as they surely were after Ortiz left. It should have been Mookie's team and I for one have more interest in the Sox organization's answer to that question than the question of whether Mookie is truthful on this point. Tell us Red Sox, why were you pushing the JD as team leader narrative when it was obvious that Mookie should be the team leader?
  4. There actually is a team in MLB. Its called "The MLB Players Association". Now I grant they have a hard time putting that across the front of a jersey. But that is the team.
  5. All Rafi needs to do is learn what Ortiz not only learned but implemented. Neither one and most LH hitters cannot hit the high and tight. Often cannot even put a bat to it. Once Ortiz learned to lay off it, he became a monster.
  6. It is not Dugo's fault. When you and a barrel of trash are the return for Mookie Betts, every day you take the field could be a tough day at home.
  7. Three in the booth tonight
  8. Agreed...JH picked him. But the natives are restless and it appears that even some of the guys on the inside are restless. It will be investing to see how Bloom spends money. He will maybe pull a Cherries....the last guy we had that did not know how to spend a big budget because he was too unfamiliar with the responsibility of a big budget. I never cared how many post season teams Panda had played on for example. Paying that tub-o-lard that kind of money was just asking for it.
  9. Remains to be seen. Myself, I just do not see it here. Too small market-ish and we are already hearing rumblings from the Natives. Kennedy represents the Natives as is the case with the business end of any sports franchise. If they start beating the war drums steadily, Kennedy will push back on Bloom.
  10. So the reporting is that Sale took a header on his bike going downhill into Cleveland Circle. The only downhill I remember (and its been awhile) is coming down from Comm Av into Cleveland Circle or coming the other way directly across and into the Circle from that direction. The Circle itself is dead flat. No brakes Chris? No effort to brake Chris? What the hell are ya' doing? You are a string bean with no noticeable natural padding barreling downhill into Cleveland Circle?? This guy has never seemed to me to be playing with a full deck. The reporting is that he was going to pick up lunch in Cleveland Circle. Do you guys know how jammed Cleveland Circle is at lunch? Does anybody that has spent any time in Boston not know how jammed the Circle is at lunch time? Nobody saw this header? Nobody recognized that was Chris Sale flying through the air?
  11. As many have commented and I agree with, it is not hard to see what Bloom is doing or trying to do. What is IMO hard to envision is Bloom being able to execute "FULL BLOOM" in Boston and I actually think THAT is what the Sprier piece is suggesting if not saying outright. "we are not convinced this is going to play here". I am not convinced of it either with Bloom likely to have to face off with Sam Kennedy at some point and Henry having to decide which way he really wants to go.
  12. Rut-row Thats not a good sign for Bloom if true. Again I just do not see Bloom being able to go "full Bloom" successfully in Boston. There is nothing in this world worse than a half implemented strategy.
  13. Sale was not even pitching regular season games when they did the extension? I seem to remember feeling like that came out of Left Field because the season had not even started when they did the extension. It was before the season started, some time in March with another year before the contract he was on was due and questions arising about Sales durability over the course of a full season. That extension set a whole lot of other s*** in motion, none of it good.
  14. And there there are the slugs for analysts left that Eck will leave in his wake. Youk might be the best of the analysts left even with his relative lack of experience. I would not give you a plug nickel for the rest of them.
  15. You mean they aren't interested in Darwinzon?
  16. Mercifully OVER
  17. Oh yea Youkalis lots of guys would have just pulled up at 1st on that shot by Hosmer. In what world Youk would a MLB hitter not try to get two bases out of that unless in a wheelchair.
  18. Pearls before swine:rolleyes:
  19. JH to Bloom: "I just caught the Sunday game after boinking the old lady and polishing the brass-work on the yacht. Should we have a meeting? Bloom: NO!!
  20. Somebody remind of the Sox payroll again. I just can't seem to keep it in my head. Is it $10k and a ham sandwich?
  21. Hernandez to Cora: "No nuthin' hurts Skip" Cora: "You mean this is you FINE??????"
  22. And nobody warming in the pen. This looks more and more like a Cora protest to Bloom.
  23. I wonder if Duran in CF is Cora's way of protesting to Bloom. OK....I am going to keep putting Duran out there until he gets hit in the head and rushed to the hospital.
  24. So now Duran is yelling up into the stands. I guess he wants to fight.
  25. Duran has got to learn to turn his body angle on to the sun or he is going to get hit in the head out there.
