  1. Two s***** teams trying to out-s*** one another. Neither team can pitch. No matter what else might be wrong with you, if you can't pitch in MLB, YOU SUCK! Story continues to shine in the field at SS. No telling what the score would be without him out there....maybe tied....9-9!
  2. Verdugo positively shines compared to our other outfielders. If anything Yoshi looked panic stricken at that ball hit over his head. Did he think it was going to hit him in the head? Duran is not a ML Ofer and Duval is not a ML CFer IMO.
  3. You are missing some of Youk's best stuff. "Baseball is a wild game"
  4. Like I said....really no excuse for it either. Sal is a chase machine late in his career. A foot off and Sal is still swinging at it.
  5. Tell me with a straight face the Sox look like any kind of ML team at all.
  6. Throwing it anywhere near the plate with Sal is just asking for it.
  7. I would be looking to trade Verdugo. Bloom could probably get a bucket of minor league players for him......well two anyway. That sounds like a deal that would be right up Bloom's ally.
  8. Meanwhile Cy Lyles continues to have his way with the Boston Blooms.
  9. I am glad you commented. I didn't have the heart. It would have been a good play if made...not a great play but a good play. Have to do your thinking on the fly and haul ass for the wall to even have a shot at catching something like that. Not a strong suit for Yoshi.
  10. OB musing about how much the Rays have changed from the beginning of the year till now, Tampa being a stop on this road trip. In other words "please tune in"
  11. Like I said earlier in the thread....this is just not a good baseball team in any aspect of the game. It looked like a barely middling baseball time at the start of the season and it didn't get any better. It relies on a 38 year old and Rafi for is offense and once Rafi tossed in the towel that left the 38 year old. Its pitching always looked suspect and how Bloom thought he was not going to run into a gassed staff the way the new post season has condensed the days but not the games of the regular season is beyond me. Stick a fork in them....they are done.....probably a good thing as this organization needs to make some changes. The ship is not just hitting some rough seas....its going down by the head.....at least in the baseball organization. I am sure Henry is happy as can be. He has checked out.
  12. Thankfully just a walk. By rights Alvarez should have hit one to the moon....likely would have if Witt grooved one.
  13. Nahhhhh, Bloom will trade them for 6 minor leaguers, none that are even AAA ready and be pleased with himself.
  14. The errors are more indicative of a lousy team fundamentally and lately a team that has just packed it in. Casas is caught chewing on his glove too often. JT is playing out of position constantly. Rafi has just plain packed it in. Verdugo is something of a head case. No idea what the hell he is doing. I never liked the idea of Duval in our CF though he has done better out there than I thought he would and our big international deal, Yoshida is just lucky that we have a place to hide him. At least Hernandez is no longer here spitting up errors. Lets not even start on the pitching. This is simply not a very good team. Its not even a passible team by middle market franchise standards.
  15. Now that was a competitive inning....YIKES
  16. Well the new post season formula is not likely to go away. So all the teams are going to be stuck with these long stretches with no days off. So while the Boston talking heads have been whining about the schedule, I don't see how other teams don't face the same dilemma. That being that your BullPen stands a good chance of being gassed. What Bloom you didn't see this coming? The offseason changes were going to press on defenses OBVIOUSLY. Gee Bloom...did you miss that one too? So you missed added pressure on pitching. You missed pressure on defenses. Was there anything you did see coming?
  17. NOOOOOO....this sickness could be catching. The closest I want Story to Devers is the distance between 3rd and SS.
  18. Speaking of Story...which they are in the booth, think of this defense without Story....another nightmare.
  19. Devers throwing to Casas or JT. My God what a nightmare.
  20. If the want Rafi to continue to play 3rd nest season, they are going to have to rebuild him from the bottom up. He has thrown in the towel and that leads to bad habits. His footwork is now hideous, especially throwing the baseball. His body is all over the place as he releases the ball and there is no reason for it. Has nothing to do with rushing. He is just done and has regressed because of it. He can make some great plays playing the way he is but he will continue to struggle with regular plays until he gets his head screwed on straight and gets back to fundamentals.
  21. The Boston Blooms I have a feeling this is not going to end well.
  22. Won't do it I would bet. It would mess with OB's play by play schtick too much. For OB, every good to great play by an opponent in the field should be stated as "Hitter was robbed". I was never of a mind that a hitter could be robbed of anything but a Home Run. If its not over the fence its simply a good play by a fielder.....NOT ROBBERY!
  23. Papalbon refreshing as part of the Sox post game desk. Did you ever think anybody.....even me.....Mr Caustic would say something like that? If they are smart they will move Paps into the game booth and get Wake out of there.
  24. Now cannot even afford a split with the Royals. Need to take at least 3 of 4 from them.
  25. Why is Hernandez on this team? Friends with Cora?
