  1. If the wrath of God is some pulled hamstrings..... that is a wuss of a God.
  2. I liked Josh, but Ryan Sweeney has played really well... and if Bailey is even decent when he comes back it's a great move.
  3. I'd say the media would like it to be one thing... like the manager, or injuries etc..... I'd say Bobby V. was the easiest target when things were not going well. In reality it was a team with a bunch of new parts, a new manager, lots of injuries, a new GM, an emotional hangover from being part of the greatest collapse in baseball history...... and with the length of a baseball season nobody should have made rush judgements on Bobby V. or the Red Sox in general early in the season. The reality is that Bobby has at minimum done ok, and there is plenty of season for him to improve the team, or screw it up. The reality is that he did not inherit a very ideal situation and he's made the most of it.
  4. I should be more specific to be fair, it was not weei but Dale Arnold specifically .
  5. I just heard on weei guys criticizing Bobby V. for how he has used the bull pen this year. They were saying he has over used the pen and were criticizing him for having a reliever warming up in the 8th last night. Seems like they are trying really hard to find something to get on Bobby V for. I will admit I've liked Bobby V. Even before he was hired for the job, but as the season has gone on my opinion of him has gotten better. So tell me where they right in criticizing his management of the bull pen.... or are they blowing smoke?
  6. What a pleasure to watch. Congrats Cook.
  7. I have tonight off! I think I'll put a TV on the back patio and watch the game there tonight. If it cools down I'll put a fire on and cook my dinner and smores also.
  8. Well this is nice to wake up to. Go Sox! And Gonzo should get on fire now since I traded him off my fantasy team yesterday.
  9. Do I wish Youk was going to the NL, yes. Do I think this is a good deal, no. Do I think its probably the best possible deal- unfortunately yes. Given the chance Ben would have sent him to the NL, so that tels me there really wasn't any NL options. Tonight Kevin I drink a beer and raise the bottle in salute of Kevin Youk. It was time and the right thing to do but I will miss him. He is a large part of the reason I started rooting for the Sox. He was a player I'd describe as gritty, old school, and a competitor.... only un like most guys I hear described with terms like gritty, old school, and competitor..... he was a productive ball player. Thanks Kevin for doing well for this club over the years. Good luck and enjoy Chicago....flip off Theo if you see him for me. Go Red Sox, let's silence the dissecting of this move by winning many games.
  10. Where can I send you your new Lackey t?
  11. I do think negative attitudes spread like wildfire, and they are very detrimental. So first off I would trade anyone that is a prime contributor to bitchy, negative, unprofessional, immature, and selfish attitudes. So without knowing where this is coming from I will mention a few I would not want to see go. I would like to see Papi retire as a Red Sox. I hate to think of Dustin not part of the club. Sweeney, Aviles, Salty, Middlebrooks, Dubront and Salty are few off the top of my head that seem to play really hard, have good attitudes and could produce well for several years pretty inexpensively. Pretty much anyone else can go. And I think with Bobby V at the helm you get young hungry players that might still want to learn something- I don't think Vs personality matches up great with head case super stars. I mean look at how many no name or new name pieces have contributed well this year..... mean while the "superstars" have been over all flat. These are just thoughts off the top of my head.
  12. Although over priced greasy food is something I generally enjoy and probably part of the experience.
  13. I've read conflicting information about food. Can you bring food into the park?
  14. Well I may be a silly pink hat, but no chance I turn down a Red Sox game in Fenway in what could be Ortiz's last year. Never been before. I am as frustrated as all get out with the team this year, but still enjoy being a fan. Being emotionally angry at John Henry would be a real waste of energy for me, as opposed to getting the most out my honeymoon, with my beautiful wife, that we've been waiting almost 14 years for.
  15. Thanks. I appreciate it.
  16. If you were in my shoes...... heading to Boston for a week in Aug., would you fork out money for nice seats for one game, or maybe cheaper bleacher seats for a couple games? Any further seating / ticket advice appreciated. Thanks.
  17. I wish I didn't have to work tonight , this would be fun to watch drunk.
  18. So...... how's Cooks health coming along?
