    I'm not sure but I think some of that damage came after he tried to pitch with the injury...... so really to small of a sample size for me to think it was ugly. But agreed..... bring on Oswalt if possible.

    I don't really get the 1 - 5 ranking / value , order to pitching. But ..... just for fun if you were to re pick our order what would it look like? Mine would be.... 1. Beckett 2. Dubront 3. Lester 4. Bucholz 5. Bard

    This does suck. I was really really pleased with Ross and Sweeney as replacements for Ells and CC. Pretty important for Ells to come back. My gut tells me not to expect much from CC.

    Never did a honeymoon. Been married 14 years- I guess it's going to stick. We have been tossing around ideas for places to go. Tampa Bay seems cool. We both really enjoy baseball / Sox. Sox play there in September. I know its an indoor facility, but is it a decent place to watch a game? It looks like there are always plenty of open seats. Do they allow cheap seaters to move down to better seats if they are available?

    I like him in the line up as ss better than Scutaro. I would give his defense a C+, and his offense a B+ I agree with jacksonianmarch........ he is not the reason we are where we are.

    Any chance there was no injury and his missing a start was just a way to get Cook worked in, which I think they had to do?

    You do not think they could find anyone to replace Buchholz 9.09 era? Or Becketts era of something like 5 since last Sept? Its not like its trending the right direction. Josh's last two starts have an era of 10.0. This is not just a bad start or two.

    Wo! I missed this.... death threats? What are you talking about? What did I say that sounded like a death threat? Did I miss something?

    I agree, I do not think Josh is THE problem....but he is a problem. But this thread was specifically about Josh - was it not? If it was about pitching in general I'd say the biggest problem is Buchs. If it was about the team in general I'd say the biggest problem is bad long term contracts followed by bad pitching from our top three.

    You are right, I do not think he is THE problem. This thread was about Beckett though, and he is a problem. If this thread was about the overall problems with the team I would not single him out. Truth be told I think our problems with pitching are first of all Buchs, then Lester and thirdly Beckett.

    Idiotic..... its a reaction to his nearly 6.0 era. And I am equally as concerned with Lester and Buchs. Beckett is paid well to be a professional. He is a grown man. I can't stand the excuse that management, or a coach he does not like effects how he pitches. And to be clear I was being sarcastic about throwing things on the field. But to think its idiotic to be pissed at any of our ''top three'' is odd.

    If management has the stones to let him take the mound in Fenway again I hope everyone in the stands throws either a piece of chicken or a golf tee on the field.

    I can remember when I would have to sacrifice watching sitcoms to watch the sox game... now I get all the comedy I need when watching the game.
