    Yep,Sweeney did not take advantage of ST and show he has any more bat to offer. I can also get on board with the real season of baseball. RIP 2013 Spring Training thread........ RIP.

    I agree, I seem to remember him stating that he didn't pitch long enough as a starter to call it a failure. Of course it's tough to get into someone's head. He could just be trying to be positive instead of whining and it doesn't come across well.

    I really liked him last year. He seems like a real hustle type player. I would have no problem starting him at ss till Drew comes back. It would be interesting to see how his at bats develop the longer pitchers get educated on him.

    I know I've really enjoyed the different opinions on here since I joined. Occasionally some have relied to me in a way that seemed nasty / immature.... but I have just ignored those as I realize everyone has bad days and says something they regret. Overall the regulars on here have been respectful and helpful to me. Let's just remember it's a message board about guys hitting and throwing a ball...... not worth taking things personal and getting upset over.

    I expect to have a fun year as a fan. I do not expect them to make the playoffs, but also see no reason not to hope that they can. What I mean is if I'm a Dodgers fan I expect to make the playoffs.....if I'm a Astros fan I have no hope of thinking things could break our way and we make the playoffs. I feel as if the Sox are in the middle of those extremes which frees me as a fan of preconceived notions to judge the season by. I am officially optimistic but won't be livid and crushed if we have a poor season. If we have a poor season I think Cherries has put together a good roster that can be easily dismantled to contenders for future building pieces.

    He is doing it quick and it looks so smooth and relaxed when he throws a runner out. Fun to watch.

    Cut him. DWUI is bad enough..... but then running from the cops and refusing a breath test tells me he is not a take responsibility type. Here in WY they changed the law last year and people no longer have the right to refuse a test when they are arrested for DWUI.

    It's pretty funny how t h e Boston media starts every Stephen Drew bit by declaring how much livelier he is compared to JD. From t he interviews I've seen he wins by a hair.

    I would call the Dodgers and offer to trade Ells, then play Bradley everyday... they need an outfielder Crawford is already injured I hear....I'm sure they would like another glass outfielder from Boston.

    I really am encouraged with the weei story on Webster's pitching performance today. I know it's a microscopic sample size but still encouraging.
