  1. Outfield could save at least a run a game if it's JBJ, Castillo, and Betts. Teams not hitting anyway. Put Han Ram on first. Goodbye Nap. Goodbye Nava. I know there's a few reasons this couldn't happen... but something needs to change.
  2. Yep, I just keep thinking, "They just can't be this bad can they?"
  3. I'm still pretty confident the team works out of this slump... but wow this is tough to keep watching every night.
  4. I often doubt how much value a hitting coach really adds at this level... but he is collecting a paycheck and the team sure ain't hitting.
  5. I wonder how nervous our hitting coach is these days?
  6. OK, I just got home from work... looks like I've missed more of the same.
  7. This offense really needs to help / reward the pitching staff.
  8. I'm very frustrated with the offense, but am generally confident it will turn around. The one piece that concerns me most is Napoli. I'm afraid he's not just in a slump, I fear this is just where he is at. We will need one of our 6-9 hitters to hit better than they should to compensate for him.. if he stays in the lineup, which I don't think he should. He hasn't looked like a MLB hitter at all this year. From what I've seen, he''ll continue to swing hard and accidentally hit 15 or so homers this year. I hope I'm wrong... and the good news for Sox fans is that I usually am wrong.
  9. That's what I thought... woops Sox.
  10. What did we get for Reddick?
  11. Having a knuckle-baller come in to save the day, for me, is like... well I'm too frustrated to even think of a decent analogy... but it sucks. I hate watching knuckball pitchers. I hate watching any of our pitchers for that matter.
  12. does this give you any spyware? Sometimes I'd like to watch the Rockies games here (in WY) but can't because of the stupid blackouts.
  13. Maybe Farrell and Cherries can explain that when they get their pink slips.
  14. Agreed, it was our hitters that really cost us the Yankees series. And while Bucholz did not look good last night- our offense again looked awful. The thing about "power offenses" that frustrates me is that turning in tons of runs does not help win games when they come in bunches. Winning one game 100 to 1, doesn't help your record at all if you only score one run a game for the next 5 games- even though you could brag that your offense has scored more runs than anyone else that week. Scoring lots of runs is good... scoring decent amounts of runs on a consistent manner is more important.
  15. At this point we are hoping the pitching can get somewhere near mediocre. Because of that, we need to get the most out of our offense, and defensive players at all times- in order to compensate for the pitching. Is Hanley in the outfield getting the best out of our defensive positions? Is Napoli in the line-up getting the most out of our offense? Could Hanley play first and put JBJ in the outfield? Assuming Hanley's injury isn't real serious of course.
  16. Too early to get excited or concerned. Be calm buddy. One thing I've learned in my short baseball followings.... nobody knows anything about predicting anything.
  17. Boy I'd hate to see Victorino go. I'd love to see him around for a few more years. I'm sure that's not likely as they have a surplus of young and upcoming outfield talent... but I'd like to at least one more year of him in a Sox uniform. He plays the game so hard. He really lays it all out and does every little thing he can to help his team win. I think he has added value given the young talent the Sox have- as an example and mentor for them.
  18. I really didn't think we'd land him. X better step it up at ss this year.
  19. As far as Pablo goes.... I'm not at all worried about his weight because one, weight probably doesn't effect performance as much the younger a guy is (and we have him in what should be his prime years), two, he has proved he can play, and three, there's a good chance he's a first baseman next year, and possibly a DH for most of seasons past that.
  20. OMG !!!! I'm not a Queen fan, don't own any of their recordings... but have always liked that song. All my life I've been singing along when it comes on the radio, "you make the rocket world go round." Life is wonderful. When I'm investing time reading internet posters theories of a baseball players stomach size, I find out something useful.
  21. OK, I'll predict the Sox win the division. Napoli and Victorino have all star seasons offensively. Pedroia comes out swinging, has a great April with the bat. Ortiz has another solid year of HR's. JBJ gets traded soon. Koji will not be as solid as we need and the closer role will take time to figure out. Of our pitching staff, one will become useless, and two will look like aces through most of the year. I'm not predicting who, but just guessing how I think averages will work out.
  22. Not sure of my predictions, but 2015 is off to a rough start. I got served with a stupid traffic court subpoena today for April 6th at 1pm (3 eastern)!
