    I've seen too many kids grow up in the worst of conditions s with criminally negligent parents- that turned themselves into good people......and too many kids with good parents that turned out to be scrum bags. Generally parenting produces the type of person we become..... but there are too many examples of people that choose to break their parents mold for me to automatically blame parents. Individuals are responsible for their actions.

    I wonder if today's players don't pitch career innings like Cy Young because they throw so many more pitches as kids- with year long little league, private coaches, off season camps etc.....?

    Rather than throw big money at an over the ocean prospect..... wouldn't the Sox be wiser to work out an extension with Lester?

    I hope so. Last year at spring training he was amazing to watch throw to second. Not many going to try and steal on him.

    Why does everyone assume Salty can't call a game or handle the staff? Our 5 primary starters era averaged lower with Salty than with Ross. I averaged out the numbers this morning, with the primary 5 they averaged 3.49 era. Did anyone see Clay pitching to Salty? Koji pitching to Salty? Salty will apparently never throw out base runners, he is frustrating as hell to watch bat.... but the pitchers pitched just fine to him.

    I like this, ok... so so. Being a one year deal is great. I'd rather see Salty signed to two years, but he must have been wanting more years and more money than he was worth. I like our line up better with AJ hitting in it. I do not expect our pitchers to do any better.

    I would not want to see Workman get traded. I think he can become a very solid starter for us.

    I've seen one blurb on MLb trade rumors that Sox may work out a trade with Angels for Mark Trumbo if they do not work out something with Napoli. I think he would be great, good power and cheaper.

    Mlb trade rumors reports that the Rockies are willing to talk trades for Troy Tulo. I think he is a great talent and would be a good fit in Boston. His injuries and big contract are troubling though. Wonder what it would take to get him?

    Nobody's talking about Workman. I would not be surprised if he finds himself in the starting rotation on a regular basis sometime through the season.

    So I would imagine there will be a number of clubs looking for new managers by next season. With the great 2013 season the Sox had Will anyone from their coaching staff be recruited as managers? What types of contracts are those on coaching staff's usually under? Do you think our bench, pitching, or any others might be targeted?

    I've heard KC will look to trade Billy Butler. Would you rather sign Nap again or work out a trade for Butler? Of course I realize it depends on what KC would ask for...... but if it was a smart trade, I think I'd rather have Butler at first base.

    Beat me to it. I know and am glad we never get quite to that Twitter feeds level..... but we head down that road at times which is why I hate all the f bombs, die player, eat a bucket of dicks type comments when some single play goes wrong.
