    I've been the biggest anti- Casas guy as there has been... but boy when I remember he is just 23 years old... hard not to cheer for him and hope he makes it. Lots of pressure for a kid. Nice base hit.

    Some nice defense... solid pitching... a couple home runs... I'm watching a good game... but I can't quite accept it- feels hard to believe at this point.

    The Red Sox are not very good... I need a daily affirmation of that I think. I continue to get roped into optimism.... but then games like this (which we obviously can easily still win)... but games we should be man-handling the opposition and are just showing our inconsistent true nature.

    1-0.... Nice way to start a game.... we are ahead, not playing from behind. I prefer this type of start- feels more sustainable than the games we score 15 runs.

    Dalbec never looked bad to me... just didn't ever look really good consistently. But seemed like a decent ball player. I hope he get a solid run in the majors.

    Agreed- but will we ever see a pitcher's contract we like again? You have to massively over pay if it is not home grown.

    I was lamenting about Casas at a family gathering yesterday.... my brother (a Yankees fan, but with far greater baseball knowledge than I) reminded me how Pedroia was pretty bad his first year- and had to be sent back to AAA before turning into an allstar. He reminded me these guys understand potential in a way I can't.

    In hindsight a play worked out with Duran out.... but has anyone heard the actual reason Duran was taken out of the game- I haven't been able to watch it real close tonight.

    Duran has showed up to play all year.... all stats aside... he just seems ready and excited to make something happen.
