Sounds like you've made up your mind already, so I'll save myself time and not include video of his other strong throws.
P.S. - In 2009 he had TJ sugery, of course he wasn't making good throws.
Also worth noting is that Aviles was a .297/.337/.468 hitter in the minors and hit .325/.354/.480 with the Royals in 419 at bats in 2008 before requiring Tommy John in 2009. The typical recovery time for TJ is two years, maybe the Red Sox are taking a chance on him bouncing back.
That would explain why the Red Sox were trying out Navarro in the outfield. Sounds like the Red Sox had questions about his maturity, which I had never heard before until now. I think it may have had to do more with his defense.
Seems like a lot to give up for a backup infielder. Aviles best defensive position is shortstop and he owns a career line of .296/.343/.464 against lefties (.309/.344/.600 this year in 55 AB).
BTW, Kuroda has a 4.67 ERA in 61.2 innings against American League teams and Jiminez has a 4.09 ERA in 79.1 innings against American League teams. SSS, but those are the numbers.
Sounds like we're focusing on Kuroda now as Jiminez is likely to stay in Colorado and the Guardians and Yankees would be the favorites if he was traded.
EDIT:
They asked the Yankees for Nova and a catching prospect so it's likely they ask us for Weiland or Lavarnway.
Yankees fans laughed when Buchholz was compared to Joba. Yankees fans laughed when Lester was compared to Hughes. Now they're laughing when Weiland is compared to Nova.
