  1. Yankees might need 5 innings from their bullpen tonight. This one's not over.
  2. So when a Yankees prospect does bad you say, "nothing ever good comes out of their farm system." And when a Yankees prospect does tremendously you say, "it's an allusion." Don't you think you're being a bit... homerish?
  3. Karstens is 3rd in the NL in ERA (2.41) and 4th in WHIP (1.07). Kennedy has a 3.22 ERA and a 1.12 on 148 innings this year.
  4. Another patented new Yankee Stadium home run. God, I wish the green monster was 10 feet high.
  5. Colon threw well over 30 pitches that inning and is now up to 89 or 90 through 4 innings. It would be stupid to bring him back out for the 5th in a tie game, he look exhausted.
  6. Weiland and Lavarnway? Nova really isn't anything special, he allowed more hits than IP and had a WHIP of 1.36 in the minors.
  7. The more I watch Colon, the less I think he's going to fall off a cliff any time soon. Of course a head could grow out of his arm this offseason.
  8. That will put a dent in Chavez' BABIP. His BABIP before he went on the DL was .297, but his expected BABIP based on his 6.5% line drive rate was more than .200 points lower.
  9. Interesting strike zone on Teixeira. http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfxVB/location.php?pitchSel=501957&game=gid_2011_07_30_balmlb_nyamlb_1/&batterX=9&innings=yyyyyyyyy&sp_type=1&s_type=3
  10. Yankees should light this guy up. He's never had an ERA below 4.69 or a WHIP below 1.53.
  11. That.was.hilarious. What a disappointing loss for Yankees fans. They teased like they were going to mount a comeback, then with the tying run on base Martin grounded out and Gardner struck out to cap off an 0-for-5 night before repeatedly smashing his bat into the ground out of frustration. The Yankees were 1-for-9 with RISP and are now 1 game over .500 since the All-Star break.
  12. That's it for Bedard, he was pulled after 1 and a third after giving up 3 runs. He was very wild but as you can see from the graphic, when he was throwing strikes they were often called balls and when he threw pitches outside of the zone the hitters were getting hits on them. Not a good outing, but his stuff was good. He was throwing 92-93 mph on his fastball and had a very good curve. http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfxVB/location.php?pitchSel=407853&game=gid_2011_07_29_tbamlb_seamlb_1/&batterX=&innings=yyyyyyyyy&sp_type=1&s_type=
  13. It's only the 2nd inning and it's already pretty obvious that he does in fact have a very good curveball tonight.
  14. That's a patended new Yankee Stadium home run. If it's in the first 3 rows in that bandbox, it's pretty much a guarantee it would be an out almost anywhere else. Yankees down 4-1 now.
  15. He throws meatballs during the game and pies afterward.
  16. Looks like we're the favorites for the time being considering all the talk about the Yankees interest waning and them not having contacted the Rockies today. It's still quite likely that neither one of us lands him though and we get Bedard and the Yankees get Kuroda.
  17. Hahaha, good to see Burnett's having a typical s***** outing and the Yankees are getting shut out by the O's tremendous pitching. You guys have yet to see their bullpen yet though so this one's still wide open.
  18. O's up by 4 now in the 6th.
  19. The Mariner's have RICK written on their infield. Someone must have died.
  20. Well that sucked. If the Yankees keep losing though, no harm no foul.
  21. 2 hour and 9 minute game. Wonder if that's our fastest one this year.
