  1. He would be a good fit here. RH power hitter, with the capacity of launching 450 ft bombs to left. Realistically, I think the Marlins will hold onto him to rebuild around him. I'm thinking of Austin Jackson.
  2. Sox seem to struggle with injuries every other season, so I'll take Roberts.
  3. He's not going to do a whole lot.
  4. Might also be beneficial to pick up an OF, especially a CF at the deadline. A BJ Upton type would be nice. Not BJ himself though, but he probably won't even be on the market. Stanton is too much of a RF. If we trade for him, Vic would definitely have to move to CF.
  5. I'd argue with you at C, LF, and RF. First of all, are you talking about Nava or Gomes for LF? I've probably said this before, but I like Vic going back to CF, Nava in RF, and Gomes in LF with Bradley coming off the bench. I have a hunch that JBJ isn't ready to be an everyday CF yet. If he starts at CF everyday, he'll either get hurt or put up disappointing numbers as the dog days approach. Now, at catcher, AJ can still hit. If he stays healthy, he can be much better than Salty, but of course Ross will still catch for Lester.
  6. I'm curious. If he stays healthy, he could at least make the team. From there, he could have a slight impact. It would be a lot better for him if he was a righty though.
  7. Ha! Tanaka says he chose the Skanks because they appreciated him the most. No, you chose them because they offered you the most money.
  8. Yes, unless he has a great first half of the season at the plate. Right now, I feel like he's a little overhyped, which has brought down his game a bit.
  9. I would even consider trading him in July in exchange for a player at a spot that we really need. Curious to see how he will develop over the course of the season. Worst case scenario is having Victorino in CF, Nava in RF, and Gomes in LF, with Sizemore off the bench. I would take that anyday.
  10. I like the signing. I'm not ready for JBJ to be the everyday CF yet. Sox learned last year that one year contracts with sketchy players could pay big dividends.
  11. Well, it's exam week in school, had a snow day today, and have been really busy. The extreme cold has me yearning for summer and baseball, which will bring me closer and closer to the magical age of 16.
  12. I'm just going to hope and pray the Tanaka turns out to be the next Dice-K. I have a feeling. A good feeling. He is not going to do well in the US. Correct me if you actually look it up, but from what I've seen, around 1 out of every 5 Japanese pitchers who come over here have maintained success. Tanaka may have a good rookie year, as hitters try to figure him out, but it will get increasingly harder to be a constant force on the mound. I still think that Darvish will fall at some point. Investing in Japanese pitchers is too much of a risk to get involved in. The Yankees certainly have the wallet to get screwed on this one, and they had to take the chance to try and improve their pitching staff. Although, one thing that will help Tanaka is having Kuroda on the team. Kuroda provides the veteran presence, who can certainly relate, coming from Japan to a big market himself in LA, and speaks fluent Japanese, presumably one of the few in the clubhouse. Kuroda should serve as Tanaka's personal pitching coach in a sense, but that won't necessarily translate to good things. Now that that's over, how's everyone been?
  13. I'm not the one to ask when it comes to bars, but for tickets, anything you can get down the RF or even LF lines is a pretty good seat. You are probably going to want the plastic seats, rather than the wooden ones. I don't live close to Boston, so I can't help with surrounding attractions, but I can provide more info involving the park/the game if you need it.
  14. I'm just curious. I'm not trying to get on his case.
  15. Agreed. Why would he wait until mid December to have surgery?
  16. So Pal, you were right about Ells, so a deal's a deal. I guess no Thunder GT mojo in 2014. Let's talk to YOTN to set it in stone.
  17. Glad that we get at least some kind of consolation with the Yankees getting ready to lose Cano and Granderson. Least they can do.
  18. Haven't been on in a while, but: Sad to see Salty go, but he wasn't part of the long term picture with Lavarnway AND Butler coming Don't know how much production we will get from AJ My Ells bet with Pal is over. Damn.
  19. Sox need to focus on resigning everyone they want to before looking to Beltran. tbh, Beltran isn't a necessity. Sox need to bear down.
  20. Team chemistry is a big issue as well. When that goes up, they'll begin to win better quality games.
  21. Love that Kentucky lost with all the hype on their team. Shocked that Duke lost, didn't see that coming. Also, this UConn team could be better than the one that won the NC in 2011. Napier and Boatright combine to be one Kemba Walker, but this year, we actually have size down low. Amida Brimah is going to be a great NBA player one day, but I hope he realizes that he has to stay at least 3 years. He's still very very raw. He needs to develop.
  22. Even if they did, wouldn't worst to first top second worst to Wild Card?
  23. According to the ESPN alerts on my phone.
  24. f*** the MLB! How dare they give AL MOTY to Tito?
