  1. This is what I call deep doo-doo
  2. I might have to change my team's name very soon... Bauer Outage has taken on a whole new meaning in the last 12-18 hours
  3. Forecast has improved drastically since last night. Getting to 5 innings might be the priority again today. Sun is peaking out now, but there are supposed to be thunderstorms coming in later. As of last night, it was supposed to rain all day today. So maybe we will squeeze it in
  4. It's also gotten about 20 degrees cooler since the storms began. From 95 to 75
  5. Still raining very hard here. I don't expect this game to be resumed. I also don't expect tomorrow's game to be played
  6. Isolated thunderstorms all around Boston right now. Severe thunderstorm warning for the rest of the night where I am - 20 minutes south
  7. Severe thunderstorm coming through right now. No way we start on time. I was just at the driving range overlooking downtown Boston and it looked like the apocalypse was coming
  8. Win tonight and we're on pace to win 100
  9. Riding the Schwarber wave into the sunset...
  10. Currently 97 degrees and feels like 106. Glad I'm no longer going tonight
  11. Somebody wants to go to tomorrow's game with me as first date. Normally I would never say no to such things but after the week I just had, I need a couple days to get my energy back
  12. I feel like we can get to Cole. He hasn't been as sharp recently as he was to begin the year. Even before the pitchers started getting checked, he had some rough outings. I will miss this one, as I will be on CBS. No, I will not be watching CBS. I will actually be ON CBS. My annual cameo on national TV is today
  13. Rough one last night to cap off a week of very sloppy play. Let's hope we get our act together this weekend. Nothing is going to come easy these next few weeks: Yankees, Royals again, then a trip out west
  14. Seems like Cora went to the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" school of lineup card making. As long as we won the night before, he seems hesitant to change the starting 9
  15. Well, if we lose tonight, I might have to go with a Pats jersey. I really want to wear my Pat Mahomes shirt, but this is a BBQ featuring every Massachusetts office in our company. Hundreds of salty Pats fans. Not a good idea
  16. Not even when we play the Tigers in Detroit in the dog days of August??
  17. Big BBQ at work tomorrow. They want us to wear our favorite sports jersey. If we win tonight, I'm wearing my Devers shirt. Don't let me down!!!
  18. Unbeaten for the season against both of the so called "juggernauts" in the division (NYY and TB)
  19. Those pesky Royals won't go away
  20. Good point. The poor defense and baserunning is what I was referring to. Good bullpen performances sometimes go under the radar. We certainly didn't do ourselves any favors.
  21. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. Last night, neither team was very good and neither was very lucky. I'm not quite sure how we won this one, but I'll take it.
  22. Extend the lead!!!! I'm golfing in the rain tonight so I'll be checking in later on
  23. This morning, my team issued a petition to fire its manager after leaving Schwarber on the bench and costing them a win yesterday
  24. I've been breaking this season down into weeks. 162 games is a marathon, not a sprint. We were 4-2 this week. Nothing to scoff at. All we can hope for is to go .500 or above each week and we will end up exactly where we want to be.
