  1. WIN! I'll be golfing. Today looks like it will be the first day in July that it has not rained in Boston.
  2. Somebody I played with and against in HS just got drafted by the Padres.
  3. Well the last time I saw a win at Fenway, the Yankees were in town, so hopefully my luck can turn next week
  4. I don't know. Woke up feeling grumpy today I guess
  5. Even worse, my friend is coming up from CT in 2 weeks to see the Yankees
  6. What I meant to say was: I don't think anybody really cares, besides you and bkz. But, hey you never know.
  7. Really doesn't need its own thread
  8. I gotta stop going to games. 0-3 this year when I go. Still had a good day though after the debacle that was this morning
  9. Nola got scratched. Bullpen day for the Phillies
  10. No worries, I'll have fun! I always make friends with whoever I sit next to at Fenway, unless it is some gross old guy
  11. Well I got stood up for a first date brunch this morning, so instead I went online and purchased a single Student 9 ticket. So, I'll be chilling by myself down the RF line this afternoon. No shame in that if you ask me. Go Sox
  12. Pivetta just getting an extra day of rest. He'll go tomorrow. My guess is they want to start with Nate out of the All Star break
  13. I'll be running somewhere around Fenway right when this game is starting. Beautiful day here in Boston. Sun is trying to break out. Not overly warm or humid.
  14. Wow, I must be lucky to only have access to radio
  15. I enjoyed watching the game last Saturday with him in the broadcast booth. Made me feel like a kid again.
  16. Agreed. It will be interesting to see what we do at the deadline. I personally don't think we need very much. Maybe a minor move here and there. We definitely don't need something Earth-shattering. And it's not like the Rays or Yankees are known for making headline deals at the deadline either. Hasn't Cashman stayed relatively quiet the last few years?
  17. And the Giants and Dodgers had rough weeks as well, so we didn't lose any ground in the race for best record. Houston is on our tail, though, and the White Sox are getting hot again. Can't wait to play them in Chicago
  18. Good time to get two days off. We are not playing tomorrow. Tropical storm warnings issued throughout all of New England. At least 2 inches of rain coming. Get some rest, play 2 vs the Phils on Saturday, finish strong on Sunday and then enjoy the break.
  19. I'll start this one at work, then go to the driving range ahead of thunderstorms in the Boston area, then go home and eat, and then go grocery shopping. One of those days you enjoy having a radio handy.
  20. You can't win them all. Sometimes I think some of you forget that.
  21. Last week, sign ups opened for the Massachusetts vaccine lottery and I was so excited to sign up. But, as it turns out, you had to have been vaccinated in Massachusetts. I was vaccinated in CT before I moved. So this random bozo cannot win the lottery.
  22. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good, but it is best to be lucky AND good.
  23. Since Kimmi doesn't post in game threads, I can say this without being chastised: There is definitely a component of "clutch" in there too. Whether it be a big hit, big pitch, or great defensive play, we've seemed to come up with them more often than not.
  24. RHP Nate Eovaldi (9-4, 3.41) vs RHP Shohei Ohtani (3-1, 3.60) Two all stars on the mound, and 5 more in the starting lineups (including Ohtani). Can we win a game that does not require a save? Give Barnes and Ottavino some much needed rest.
  25. Well, since most of the WooSox still aren't vaccinated, the Sox can't leave the hotel when on the road. So it's not like he spent the day at Disneyland and then found out he was headed back to the armpit of Massachusetts
