  1. Somehow, I am actually not interested in the draft, even though there is literally nothing else on. It's weird. Quarantine is starting to affect me
  2. Think about it though. People my year in school were born in the fall of 1998 (like me) or the spring of 1999. The Patriots have been a contender every year since then, except for 2008
  3. It's just a personal thing for me. I'm tired of the frat boy types cheating the system and doing as well as me or better in school. I work my ass off for the grades I get. I reported two co-workers for cheating on a final in the fall, but there wasn't enough evidence to do anything about it. Sometimes the lack of discipline is worse than the actual act itself. That's my rationale behind this.
  4. Well then he better draft well this weekend. I have so many friends that are convoluted Patriots fans. They think it's impossible for them to ever be bad. They were horrible once, they'll be horrible again. It might not be anytime soon, but they'll stink again. Just because they've been dominant as long as you've been alive doesn't mean they will always be dominant is basically what I always tell them. I'm a Patriots fans too (and a Jets fan, don't ask), but I'm more realistic about the fact that they won't always be so good
  5. Unless the Patriots draft well this weekend, I see them as a 3rd place team. The roster is just too old, other than the secondary. I don't know how Stidham will turn out if they choose to rely on him, and they have major holes at WR and TE as we learned last year in December. I agree with you on Bell, but Darnold played exceptionally well the second half of the season once he got his stamina back from mono, and stopped seeing ghosts. People forget that the Jets ended up at 7-9, 2 games out of the playoffs, and were perhaps the most under-the-radar team in the NFL, since many people gave up on them after the 1-7 start that was due in large part to injuries. Darnold did all that with not a lot of weapons at his disposal. Get a little help on the O-line, and I like what he can do. The defense is pretty solid, they just didn't stay healthy. CJ Mosley got hurt early in the year, Avery Williamson missed the entire year, putting way too much on Jamal Adams, who almost singlehandedly got the job done. Now if they could just hold onto him and not trade him like they're talking about doing during the draft...
  6. Jets are a OL, WR away from contending, especially now with Brady gone in the AFC East. It would be nice if they could stay healthy too
  7. It's a little irrational, but I think he should have been banned for life. I've seen way to many people cheat their way to the top in my life
  8. I didn't say we don't deserve the title, I just said Cora deserves more of a punishment. Those things aren't mutually exclusive
  9. I thought you were the one that was yelling at us for caring about sports during this crazy time..?
  10. He got 2 rings by cheating. Sure, what he did with the Red Sox wasn't as bad, but that doesn't matter. Cheating is still cheating
  11. So do both MetLife Stadium tenants
  12. Nah as in you don't agree or nah as in 1 year isn't enough?
  13. 1 year isn't enough
  14. I won a Brady Super Bowl LIII jersey at a UConn basketball game, and then bought a Jamal Adams Jets jersey last year around this time, since he's an absolute baller and his last name is my first name. Within 48 hours, both of them could no longer be on those teams. I hate having jerseys/t-shirts of players that aren't on that team anymore, but I'm keeping my Mookie t-shirt for now.
  15. Thank you thank you. I knew with a name like Pirates I had to do something good. For Milwaukee, I had Hoppers initially, then Beer Hoppers, so it just fed right into Bar Hoppers. I'm proud of that one. My favorite though is the Seattle Sea Captains
  16. I am aware of that for the Padres. I couldn't think of anything for that so I went with Absent Fathers. Hope it's okay to make a joke lol
  17. Well part of it is you can't really do much with Guardians without it clearly being racist. In my book, Choppin' Tomahawks is the same as Braves since it's their logo and they do the Tomahawk Chop after basically every hit
  18. Super Bowl home field curse is over
  19. My attempt at every team: Seattle Sea Captains Los Angeles St. Peters Oakland Jumbo Elephants Texas Rancheros Houston Moonmen Minnesota Meiosis (I'll give you credit for that) Detroit Hungry Beasts Kansas City Throne Usurpers Cleveland Native Americans (touchy subject) Chicago Tighty Whiteys Boston Bloody Socks (in honor of Schilling) New York Heroes Toronto Flying Geese Baltimore Orioles (nothing wrong with it) Tampa Bay Devil Rays (the original was so much better) New York Urbanites Philadelphia Jingle Bells Atlanta Choppin' Tomahawks Miami Deep Sea Fishermen Washington Nitwits (shoutout to the government) Milwaukee Bar Hoppers Chicago Growling Grizzlies St. Louis Redbirds Pittsburgh River Ruffians Cincinnati Chili Macs Arizona Sidewinders Colorado Mighty Mountainmen San Diego Absent Fathers San Francisco Large Hombres Los Angeles Avid Avoiders
  20. Also, there's rumors that Jamal Adams will be part of a draft day trade for the Jets. Leave it to Adam Gase and Joe Douglas to bite the hands that feed them. They pissed him off by shopping him at the deadline last year, and then Gase irritated Le'Veon by saying something stupid in the offseason. If Darnold hadn't had such a good second half, I would want them both out the door
  21. At least on offense, it seems like the Giants have enough to compete. I'm not too familiar with their defensive personnel, but it really goes to show you how much a horrible offensive line can drag the entire team down
  22. Well the catcher is wearing a mask...
  23. I have it recorded. Not a big NBA fan but I love a good documentary
  24. Although that wasn't on Patriots Day, it was on this date in 2013. Fun fact. My aunt from OH is an Guardians fan, and use to have season tickets at the Jake. She usually comes home to CT twice a year (at least) to visit my aging grandmother, and she would have come this weekend, with the Guardians at Fenway for the holiday weekend. Despite the still relatively cold weather, that would have been fun. I was at the game the day before the Marathon bombings. Patriots Day Weekend is a special time to be in Boston. Obviously, nobody could have known what would happen on Marathon Monday that year
  25. Back when we had the Norwich Navigators (now the Richmond Flying Squirrels) I had a hat and went to a couple games. They were AA though, so games were a little more fun than with a short season A club as they are now. I do have a Hartford Yard Goats hat and shirt. Those games are incredibly fun. I'm personal friends with the on-field host.
