  1. I'm still using aspirins since then
  2. 10 M available in order to fill our pitching holes? I want to see how BC handles this. He will need to be creative.
  3. It's curious that they are trying to build a team with some latin star players, regardless Ozzy is Latin and a polemic character. I guess they are thinking in the large latin market that they have in Miami. I won't be surprised if they sign Cespedes since a lot of Cubans live in that area. Interesting way to attract fans to the stadium.
  4. Seems that all this franchaise restructure project is a serious thing huh?
  5. You betcha. Shut down pressure>>>Set up pressuere/any reliever spot pressure, and if you rush me, any position. 1. Reason why these guys (closers) and mostly elite closers can not be treated as commodities (common relievers). 2. Reason why you can not compare his numbers with Paps numbers in order to build an accurate case, or an accurate projection. First, he has to show and prove consistently and continuously that he can handle demanding loads of pressure. Somehow and at some key moments he couldn't handle the pressure. I'm convienced that this is not about mechanics. This is not about physical conditioning. His talent is out of doubt. As I've been saying, his real problem is in his mind, reason why I think he is not ready, not now; unless they help him and fix it with that brain scanner . If they are really considering to make the transition, they better start working with his mind (whatever it means)
  6. I like your post. I agree in some passages and disagree in others. Yes, we need to be optimistic. I am. I like this. Sounds great.
  7. I've been planning this trip year after year but sometimes is the job, sometimes is my family, sometimes comes other priorities, the true is that I have not found out the right time, my bad. Hopefully next season is the right season in order to make that trip, and yes, hopefully I have the opportunity to watch my team as a WS contender. I'm very excited about it.
  8. Nobody is bitching, Nobody is freaking out. Nobody is beating horses. Why do you overeact like that? Because we don't share your point of view? We bitch, because we don't share your point of view?. Sorry E1, you are wrong. We are making posts. We are sharing ideas. We are talking about baseball. Nobody is disrespecting nobody E1. I'm surprised you overreact like this. You are not like this E1. If you don't agree in one post, share your arguments, if you don't want to read those bored posts, ignore them, as simple as that. But do not limit other posters in what to say or think. Stop callin people bitchers or whatever. In the end this is all about, to share our ideas.
  9. What I've been saying is that we have a limited budget before go over the cap and a lot holes to fill, regardless seems that they are really considering resign Ortiz. If they resign him, they will eat likely the half of that budget (+-24 M) and still several holes to fill, so... Reason why IMO they will likely go over the cap, that's all. For the record, I'm not against in signinig low/mid-class players or pay large contracts or play with potential prospects or making trades or even pay for experienced players. I've been saying that each case/situation/player needs to be analyzed carefully in order to emit an opinion/judgement.
  10. Yup, his problem is in his mind. Not in his mechanics or repertory but in his mind. Anyway, A lot of holes to fill, regardless whether Bard is moved to the shutdown or SP spot. I guess they need and will go over the luxurey tax cap, if we really want to run as a legit WS contender team.
  11. Hopefully BV will put all the roster in shape. if he is capable to do that, this team will prevent a lot of injuries.
  12. Agree. Reason why I think that each team has their own plan in order to move forward and not because Pap doesn't deserve or worth that contract. This is why I think they are a solid Organization. IMO and from and Outside-In view They seem to have a solid structure (governance, risk and compliance procedures), discipline, and talent at their top management, specially when they execute at FA.
  13. I hope you invite me next year and let me build my own team, I couldn't right the ship with this team already built.
  14. I guess they didn't resign him because they already had options/strategy to fill that hole, sure plus saving that money; but it doesn't mean that he doesn't deserve that contract. Hell, he's asking -17% per year less than Mo after all, regardless he is 10 years younger or something, proved in this market, mature, with great career numbers, etc. The arguments that I've read on this regard is that this contract has a lot of risks based on other relievers records which btw are not comparable (quality, division, age, position, numbers, injury prone, years of service, etc.), and not based on his own track record and parameters (qualitative and quantitative). He is a 2.3 ERA career closer after all. A solid organization like the Philadelphia Phillies thinks that he worths that kind of contract, making some of us be a little bit more confident in our arguments and maybe, and just maybe make us reconsider that we are not that crazy after all.
