  1. While Fred talks about baseball, some posters attack him, CLASSIC!. C'mon guys, Fred is a great poster. Even with those posters who attack him, he always shows respect in the way he talks to them. I think he is a very respectful poster and brings a lot to the table; sure, he can be right or wrong in some topics, but he always talks about baseball and I often find out funny his jokes and nicknames. I'm not sure why some people take his posts so personal regardless always those posts are not directed to them, anyway... Everybody needs to calm down and back to baseball. Hopefully all this Napoli delay is about paper work and nothing related with his physical status. Would be great have him and go after Swisher too.
  2. Money is not equal to success but definitely give you better chances to succeed.
  3. From the distance seems like they could spend more if something else were available LOL. IMO they have a very good team, but IMO the problem will be all the egos around that locker room. If they can manage that, IMO they shall be considered the front runner to win the NL.
  4. LOL SD is after Jackson. The f***ing Padres, Geez Ben.
  5. Wow... LAA have Weaver, Wilson, Pujols, Hamilton, Trout, etc... Unbelievable! IMO they are the best team in the majors right now.
  6. That would be awesome!
  7. We need to push fast and furious for Swisher, and why not explore what is Bourn asking.
  8. Those LA teams will be on paper the front runners to win their divisions and likely their respective leagues IMO. At this point West Coast>East Coast
  9. Jackson and Sanchez. Sure, they will cost you much more and probably you will overpay them, but IMO They have lot better chances to post decent numbers (around 4.00 ERA) than Dempster in Boston.
  10. Lets wait and see the terms, but it doesn't smell well since he already turned down a 25/2 offer.
  11. Seriously, I hope all this Dempster thing is just a rumor.
  12. IMO he is asking for 36/3. Do not be surprised if he ends up with a 39/3... I'll be really pissed off! If so...
  13. Nobody is saying that Sanchez or Jackson are elite or #1. Both are arguably #2 - #3. They are pitchers that could post 3.8-4.0 ERA in Boston. That's all we need for now. In 2014 look for a #1 SP, and then... You will have a very nice rotation. Ace, Sanchez, Lester, Buch, Jackson and Lackey and Douby as depth. Is this really unreachable? Really? WTF are they seeing in Dempster? What? Geez!
  14. Instead, we are pushing for Dempster who will be destroyed in the ALE and likely for 3 yrs.
  15. Wow, this FO is unbelievable.
  16. Well... The problem is not spend, the problem is how you spend. This team has a need since 2011: pitching. They haven't addressed that problem yet, instead they have put their atention and bucks on managers and guys like Gomes and Victorino. We should have fixed the pitching since last year and we did not, and unless our FO has a master plan in that regard this offseason, seems like our rotation will be even thinner than last year. At this point, I'm not asking for an ace; I'm just asking for a couple of guys that could eat innings, like Sanchez and Jackson combined with a solid BP which could give us the opportunity to compete next year. Sure, you probably will overpay them, but that is the price you have to pay for waiting and pass on several pitchers. There's no a perfect deal. As I've been saying, sign Sanchez and Jackson and go with the current offense and next year focus on a centerpiece bat and an ace SP (if needed) Imagine. Sanchez Buch Lester Jackson Lackey Depth: Douby Ells Victorino Peedy Ortiz Napoli WM Ciriaco Salty Gomes/Kalish Bailey Bard Uehara Morales Aceves Hill Tazawa Bench Kalish Iggy Lav The 2013 payroll would be under 160 or so... And still have flexibility for the half of the season if you need a move and toward 2014. I mean, it is not the best offense in the MLB but IMO could be decent, and the rotation has not an ace but could be very solid on paper. As I said, in 2014 focus in a centerpiece bat and an ace (depending on the performance of the 2013 rotation), but you have to start with something.
  17. Youk fits just fine at 1B or DHing but at 3rd is too risky at this point.
  18. Hopefully this is just about paper work...
  19. Sure, we still need a centerpiece bat and Hamilton would be a terrific addition.
  20. Gonna be strange see him on Yankee uniform at Fenway. I wonder how the fans are going to react when he's at plate... like last year?
  21. Spitball, Sign Jackson and Sanchez and we are ready...
  22. Well, I just read in ESPN that he probably would accept a 4 year deal.... But yeah... Who cares about Hamilton, Where are the damn arms?
  23. Swisher is looking for 60+/4yr? No thanks. I would give 100M/4yr to Hamilton instead, but still pitching the #1 priority.
