To me he is a #4 type (aroumd 4.5 ERA) and his ceiling is at No. 3 (4 ERA pitcher). My optimistic take is that he finishes this year posting an ERA around 4, reason why I put that line for those who think that he is a No. 2, and not to say for those who think that he is a No. 1.

While I do not like Porcello, I think he is better than Dickey these days. Sure, this game could turn into slug fest again, but this should be won by the Sox.

The way I see the thing, the hole regarding pitching is so big that trading for Hamels is not going to help anyways. Also, you likely going to give up top talent for him, if so. In the end you will give up top talent for nothing, and still I have some concerns about Hamels pitching in the AL. The actual pitching situation is beyond one piece. At this point we need at least 2 SP and probably 3 relievers. Mujica and Vavaro are trash. I like Koji but I do not know if he will last in good shape all season long, unfortunately he is old and he is showing signs that he is losing his command. Tazawa is out there every night, at this pace they are going to blow his arm., etc.

Hamels is not going to be enough to right the ship IMO. We need at least 2 solid SP. So if we trade only for Hamels, I'll pass and wait until next offseason to sign 2 SP. In the mid-time, call up some guys from the farm and see who could be the real deal looking forward.

He doesn't whine. He emit opinions. Sometimes good ones and sometimes bad ones REGARDING THE TEAM, but it is always about baseball. On the other hand you have had a lot of fights with a lot of posters, and that is a fact. As you said, this is a baseball forum which is dedicated to emit opinions about the team and baseball in general, good ones or bad ones. You should use your common sense cliche to understand this.

I think it was the first poll which I participated when I said that TW101, A700, SCM33, etc were the most knowledgable posters at the time. He used to participate actively. Somehow he is not posting as he used to, probably because his activities doesn't allow him, IDK. Also, he has an amount of posts which back up his interventions. IMO He has brought a lot to the table. In my case time to time I do not post that often as well because my personal life doesn't give me a chance, and when I want to post something when I have a chance, some have called me troll or whatever when I do not say good things about the team. I do not care, really, they are the same people. In most of the cases I do not think it is an overreaction thing. Some posters saw this coming in the offseason, specially regarding pitching. Some said that it was going to be "good enough" and some like me said that this pitching staff could turn out into the worst rotation in the last 10 Y which is happening. Sure, it is still early, but honestly I do not see how this could turn around. If you had a guy like Lester who is struggling I could understand a real come back, because the stuff is there, but this staff? I see very little chances. Again, that is my opinion.

As I Said to Fred, what worries me now is the BP which btw is not that good.
